Perfect for embroidery
This has been a huge game-changer for my embroidery. I can adjust the arm to be where ever I need it to be and I can tilt it up and away when I'm not embroidering. You definitely need something nearby for it to clamp onto to get the full benefit of the arm. I tried my coffee table at first and it was too far away for my liking. And I can attach my magnetic needle minders to the arm and a key ring with my patterns right onto it. I also end up clipping my hair claws to the arm when I adjust my hair. So many uses and nothing seems to be loosening up even with all of the frequent adjusting I do.

Well Designed
I waited to write the review until I had some time to work with them. The clips are strong (need to open them with palm and meat of the thumb joint rather than my fingers, but they have rubber grips on them which help them hold the embroidery without damage. Using them with a scroll frame and have used them in both directions (on the frame and on the embroidery) with no damage. Joints permit highly customizable positioning. Has allowed me to embroider with both hands, and also prevents me from hunching over my work as it is now up and in front of me. Best of all, a really good value.

I wanted to love this but I just can't.
I so wanted this to work for me. It would save my hands but the way it fits in the part that attaches to the table isnt sturdy enough at all. It causes the main arm to fall. It also makes it difficult to use in the way it's intended. I am giving this an over all 4 stars because regardless of the unsturdy bottom attachment to the arm. The overall product is of good quality. It's very well built. If that one part could be made better then this would be a godsend to an embroider.

Unusable
Missing a tightening screw on one of the 2 arms base clamp so impossible to use as it free swings instead of holding in place....1 arm completly unusable!! Didn't come in a box just a bunch of parts in individual bags all put in 1 bag for shipping, guessing this is why pieces are missing, also both base clamps have 2 screws each that were not screwed in so it was super loose had to use a special angled screwdriver I was lucky I had to tighten them only to discover a missing tightening screw! Extremely disappointed definitely not worth the cost

Good tool without costing a fortune
I use two of these to hold my large cross stitch project. It took me about 8 minutes to set up. It’s not difficult to adjust to the ideal angles. I am very glad for this great tool to make my stitching life more enjoyable.01/28/25 update: decreased from 5 to 3 stars. The device cannot take heavier scroll frame I use therefore would drop slowly. I ended up propping each side of the scroll frame to hold it steady. On a budget, this works out fine for me.

Great idea, poor materials
I liked the many ways you can adjust the stand. It's affordable. You can fold it down for storage easily and clamp it to tables. My problem was my stand's table clamp was poorly made and it broke.

Perfect
I have 3 cross stitch stands. Hate them all. I bought 2 of these thinking I’d hate them too. I actually love them. Easy to set up at any angle you want. They stay in place. They tighten and loosen easily. No slipping or sliding. They can hold the weight.
