I bought the Samsung 990 Pro SSD with heatsink for my PS5 and overall I’m very satisfied with it. Installing the SSD in the PS5 expansion slot was easy and it fits perfectly. The build quality feels premium and the heatsink looks solid, not cheap. After installing it, I ran the PS5 speed test and it showed a read speed of 6693 MB/s, which meets Sony’s requirements and works perfectly with the console. I haven’t faced any performance issues while playing or launching games installed on this SSD. I moved around 394 GB of games from my PS5 internal storage to this SSD. The transfer was smooth, the speed was good, and the estimated time shown on the screen felt accurate. There were no interruptions or problems while moving the games. About compatibility, this SSD works fully with the PS5. It was recognized immediately, the speed test passed without any issue, and everything runs just like games installed on the internal storage. I have not faced any load time issues or crashes so far. About the price, I can’t clearly say whether this SSD is value for money or not. The regular price of this product is usually around 16,000 to 18,000 INR. I personally paid 29,299 INR for it on 13th January, which is already almost double the regular price. However, SSD prices are increasing day by day. I feel lucky that I bought it earlier, because now the same SSD is selling for around 43,700 INR or more. Overall, this SSD delivers excellent speed and reliability for PS5. If you manage to buy it at a reasonable price, it is a very good upgrade for expanding PS5 storage.

The Samsung 990 PRO with heatsink is one of the best upgrades you can get for a PS5. Installation is straightforward, and once set up, it delivers blazing-fast load times and smooth performance. The built-in heatsink keeps it cool during long gaming sessions, so no worries about overheating. Moving games from the internal storage to this SSD is very, very fast. Packaging could be better, but the SSD itself is fantastic — reliable, fast, and worth it. I bought it for 16K during the Great Indian Festival, which made it an even better deal. If you’re planning to purchase 10–12 games, a 1TB SSD is enough. Save money. For heavy gamers 2 TB.

Suitable for ps5 console.

Initially I had to face a strange issue with this SSD for using it inside an enclosure from Pibox due to which Samsung Magician software was detecting it as counterfeit. I was worried that I had received a fake product and also raised complaint with Amazon. While troubleshooting with the help of internet I could find below possible issues for my scenario: 1. After updating Samsung Magician software to latest version few users got the counterfeit message. 2. Sometimes in windows security if control folder access is turned ON then it can cause problem too. But in my case scenario was completely different....on doing some troubleshoot I noticed in my task manager instead of showing Samsung SSD it's showing my enclosure chip model name. Then I replaced my laptop internal SSD with the samsung one and it finally detected it genuine. Before doing this I had cloned my internal SSD using Samsung Magician and with the same Pibox SSD enclosure. This function was allowed in Samsung tool. I am also satisfied with the speed. I hope if someone encounters the same issue then this feedback could save you from headache.

Got this during a Festival sale for ₹29,999. But FYI, the 4 TB version does NOT include a heatsink. For a high‑performance NVMe SSD at this price, the absence of a heatsink is underwhelming. Deducting a point for this oversight. Another caveat, usable space post formatting is about 3.6 TB.

I got this genuine Top Notch SSD from Amazon forn approximately ₹17.4k and it is the best pcie gen 4 SSD there is! Amazon always provides to notch service unlike Flipkart which mostly provides fake products. The heatsink does help with reducing the temperatures by quite a lot
