Great product, but pick your day
I tried this product out on different pieces of a furniture, on different days. The oak furniture is at least 10 years old and hadn't been cleaned or stained/ oiled for 2 years. It was in a bit of a state and I really didn't want to have to sand it all down again. Good news, the product works amazingly well. Just be sure to leave on for 10 to 15 minutes (for the chemical to soften the old wood, stain and dirt etc), then scrub with a stiff bristled brush and rinse. Came up like new (and I mean new). Hasn't looked so good in years. Bad news if it's too hot the chemical evaporates before it can work (this weekend was 20° and didn't work well at all). If the wood is wet the chemical is also diluted. Summary - Great product, much easier than sanding, takes much less time... but be sure to do it on a cool overcast dry day.

Worth the expense,Worth the effort in slavering coats on garden furniture to Restore,Protect+Revive
First time ever painting n I found myself quite enjoying doing this; but tis hard going. knowing that I'm restoring n protecting the valuable garden furniture; bringing life back to them, is reassuring tho; also knowing that it won't needing to be done again for quite a while thankfully. Just bought another tin, so be slavering coats on again. The table + chairs do look good, back to their original colour; if not a tad bit darker. Infact, should of done this number of years ago~~my table + chairs are almost 12yrs old n luckily they haven't even weakened with age; but this paint will protect them for many more years. Love this shade of darkest oak, better than pine.. Two days later n OMG~ the table has darkened already, lovely shade. The table looks even better than when I first bought them; so I got the right colour; can't beat OAK ~just have to do finish off the two chairs now.... just a shame doesn't come in a spray; be wonderful if mads + her carer could paint them for me whilst I have well earned rest Bought a third tin of this Teak paint, gonna do the bench now n I betya it will go nicely together with the table n 2chairs, so might end up looking as it was meant to be together as one

3rd time buying it, never been disappointed
This is the third time I’ve bought this, never disappointed and does a brilliant job. One thing to be aware of is the lid initially is very trciky to get off so be aware! Otherwise it’s brilliant, goes on well, covers nicely and gives a great level of protection. It is clear so barely if at all changes the colour of the wood

OK product. Almost impossible to open tin.
Purchased to protect a wooden planter. I have had this in the past and it had a green tint to it, but this time is clear - looked like water which is what it is made of probably. Painted two coats on the wood, leaving over 24 hours to dry between coats. I have yet to stain the wood but time will tell if it works! Main gripe - who ever invented the lid needs to rethink this. The tin came with a a strange yellow plastic cap with an illegible 'diagram/sketch' on it. I had no idea how to open the thing and resorted to the internet for instructions.... I managed to pull up a 'hook' of plastic but then could not actually do much else. After a lot of twisting and tugging I had to ask my husband to help. With absolute brute force he pulled the yellow cap off to reveal an inner ring pull arrangement which needed to be removed to get at the product. Again, this was nearly impossible and I had to resort to using a Stanley knife tip to break the seal and get it off. Then the pouring out was a mess - the spout (I use the word loosely) was recessed into the tin, so when tipping it to get the stuff out, it went everywhere and into the pouring bit. According to the internet instructions, it sounded like pulling the yellow top off should have pulled out the inner spout, which would have made pouring much easier. It looked as if the yellow top could be screwed on and off but when I screwed it back on until it 'clicked' I could not get the thing off again without more brute force and potential for the stuff to spill. (incidentally pulling on the ring pull cut into my fingers and I had to use a cloth to protect them. So, after finishing painting with it, I just screwed the cap on lightly, which I am sure is not correct. To sum up - good product, awful 'instructions' and rubbish tin design. Certainly child proof though...

the quality of the product as declined
I have used cuprinol golden cedar wood preserver since 2008 on the last 3 times i have order from amazon the 1st and 3rd 1 litre tins as been poor to apply its very steaky when brushed on it does not flow when brushed ease you have to keep working with the brush very poor and hard work on application , the 2nd tin was great like all the others before nice even flow easy to apply and great finish, the same as when used 4 litre tins but cannot get this from local stockist any longer shame.
