Review from a six year old kid - thumbs down
My son wanted to review these shoes - and why not? He's the one wearing them. Or not.As a mom, I bought these shoes because of the brand. Soft pebbled leather, great stitching detail, nice fabric and foam insoles, good support, flexible non-marking sole. A box made of 100% recycled materials. Lots of explanations inside the box as to why it's a better shoe - that it gets you from point A, to B, to C and so on. "Care for the community, for the environment. Getting to the top of things are reaching higher. To the bottom of things, and digging deeper. Thinking on your feet. Giving it all you've got.."Good copy and very admirable, no doubt. But are the shoes comfortable, I asked my son. No. The heel was too wide and kept slipping off, even if the length was fine and true to size. Putting them on, hard for him as well. Not comfortable, can't walk in them. Thumbs down. His favorite shoes? Primigi Fergus-E Fashion Sneaker (Toddler/Little Kid) . Lots of colors to pick from. Equally nice leather and stitching, with adjustable Velcro straps that allow for a custom fit and for easy on and off, buttersoft leather lining inside. Great support. Very durable, enough to be handed down to my youngest in almost new condition - as a backup, he his own pairs. Great for dress up, or for gym. Neutral colors that go with everything. They just don't make quality shoes like these anymore. And they help kids run fast, he adds.Yes, Primigi shoes are more expensive but if you wait a bit they go on sale once in a while. And they're worth every penny. Timberland, watch your back, you have some real strong competition nipping at your heels. And winning kids over.

Lightweight, sturdy
I have bought three (3) of these so far for my boys. But for the smaller sizes it seems you have to buy it a bit biggerfor it to fit. The first one I bought for him fit snugly but the second one (12.5) was too small. However, I also boughta size 5 for the older boy and that still fit and fit very well considering that he has had it for over a year now.The make/style of the shoe is also very good but the best part is the leather which I find is very lasting. I still havethe first one I bought from the younger boy, just looking for someone to fit into it. Very pleased with this productand looking forward to purchasing more in the future.

Nice quality
These fit about as expected, or perhaps run a bit large. The opening is a little small but didn't cause any trouble for my son. The shoes are nice leather and look great for both church shoes and school schools. We bought them for a wedding but will gets lots of use out of them. The soles are tough and have lots of traction.

the shoes are ok, look fine, but my son can't wear them on a rainy day as the feet get wet at ones. Didn't expect anything at all from timberland. A little dissapointed. But as he wears them for change to school, it almost doesn't matter.

slightly small
When I opened the box, I liked the well made shoes for my active boy. The problem for us was the shoes were slightly smaller than I expected. He said they were too tight for him so I had to return them. I will order a bit bigger size next time.

Love these shoes
This is the third pair I've bought in the last three years. My son wears them to school every day as part of his uniform. They hold up well, and he never complains about them hurting his feet. The only reason I've had to replace them each school year is his feet keep growing! Fair warning to anyone buying them - they do run a little large for the size. I order exactly what size my son's foot measures at the beginning of the school year. They may seem a little snug when first tried on, but they are a leather shoe that stretches out fairly quickly. Do not buy a 1/2 or full size larger for tehm to grow into, or they will fall off their feet!

Opening is TOO small!
Once we get the shoe on, it fits fine, but it is just too much trouble getting the foot in the shoe, and my son is narrow.
