Purchased these pants for ski touring/backcountry skiing
Overview:I bought these pants specifically for ski touring (backcountry skiing). These pants are full zip and that is why I bought them. My biggest concern was how they fit and how well they vented. I wasn't as concerned with waterproofing or stopping the wind. After receiving the pants and inspecting and trying on I can tell you these pants are very lightweight and loose fitting.Order/Packing:I ordered these on October 26th, 2013 and I received them at my house in Montana the 30th. The packaging was nothing special but prompt delivery was nice.First Day Out:I used these pants for an early morning tour and was pleasantly surprised by them. The insulation was nice while getting ready at dawn in the cool morning. I gradually opened the zippers as my core temperature increased on my ascent. The first thing I noticed was that when you unzip from the top of the pant it leaves only a small Velcro piece on each side to keep the pants together. It is possible to zip these pants into two pieces (front and back). While I never had the Velcro come undone, it was a concern. Using a belt with these pants is highly recommended if you want to be active while having the tops unzipped so you dont lose your pants! I did end up sitting in snow for a few minutes while taking a break and could feel the cold through the zippers. Also I could tell that i was getting water in the pant through the zipper from melting snow. I could see how this would be a problem for some people but I wasn't concerned with it. If you were in blowing snow or really wet conditions I dont think the waterproofing would hold out for a full day of snowboarding/skiing. But, it was as expected since they pants are not $400 Mountain Hardware or North Face touring pants. Conclusion:After wearing these pants for a full day touring in early winter I can tell you that the material is thin. I figured they would catch on a branch or twig and rip however they are stronger than they look. I would definitely categorize these pants as "soft shell". For a cheap snow pant that zips they do the job better than I expected. It may sound weird but i'm glad I have these pants to keep in my 'snow pant quiver' for specific days and conditions. I would not recommend these for a multi-day tour of winter camping. For a single day on the slopes or backcountry they are fine.

Motorcycle pants substitute
I ordered a large and it fits a bit large on me. I've got a 34 waist and 30 inseam and this thing is baggy. I actually am using it on a motorcycle, since motorcycle pants are pretty expensive. I took them on an extensive ride and the pants performed pretty well in chilly air that got to about 45 degrees at night here in California. I'm thinking these pants will do pretty well as it get colder, so I'll report back when the weather turns colder in a few months. In any event, the zipper on the right side got loose as I was riding, but I'm planning on sewing some velcro fasteners to shore up the bottoms of the legs so they don't flap as much as I'm riding, and to keep the pants from dragging on the ground when I'm off the moto.UPDATE, 1/2/2016: Happy new year, e'rrbody! Anyhow, I've had quite a few cold California nights using the pants and it did pretty well. One night, it was 40F, so imagine the wind chill factor as I rode for a solid 2 hours travel time on the freeway from a gig. The pants kept me from getting cold for about an hour, then the cold finally seeped in, and my legs needed warmth when I got home. I didn't expect the pants to stave off the chill permanently, but it did allow me to acclimate nicely, which, to me, is better than nothing at all. I did sew velcro to the bottoms and that helped the bottoms from dragging, but it's still a bit too baggy and I regret that I should have gotten the mediums. Overall, still a good buy.I've also gotten some heated pants liners, and that seems to have helped a bit, and I road tested them. They helped only a little, but really not much. Yet, they're also nice and thin, so it didn't add to the bulk. The combination of the pants liners and snow pants is excellent for the price (less than $55 together).

Good motorcycle overpants!
I bought this as a motorcycle pant. I wanted something that I could wear over my pants, I could remove very quickly, and would offer protection from the cold. Water resistance is a plus. I don't plan to ride during the rain, so water proofness wasn't something I was looking for. This does the job, although I haven't tested the water resistance, and really don't plan to.I can take them off almost instantly. They aren't too bulky. I am 6'1" and 196lbs. fit, and wear a 33"X33" in pants. I bought size large and they fit perfectly, although and extra inch in length would be nice for when I am in the riding position on my motorcycle.I've only tested these pants in 50 degree weather, but they did great. I don't plan to ride my bike all winter, so I just need a little extra protection for the cold mornings. At $44, I don't think you can go wrong. These are full zip off and on.I do wish the zipper started at the top instead of the bottom, so I deduced a star because of that.

Very warm
I ordered the wrong size so they were too big. They kept my legs warm and dry. They do very well in the washer i hung them to dry

Great value for the price
As others have stated, the zippers appear to be the only weakness. Two problems with them:1) If you're not careful (or in a hurry), it's prone to catching and getting stuck on the fabric. After a few occurrences, I've learned to align the seams and use your finger to guide the path. Fortunately, I've been careful and patient enough to stop as soon as it gets caught and able to back out without permanent damage; nonetheless, I can appreciate the negative reviews regarding the zippers.2) The zipper construction/quality is fair at best. They appear to be made for light duty/applications (i.e. small and cheap feel). The concern is more for durability of repeated use - not necessarily whether they'll keep the seems together.Other than that, I did have the buttons unsnap with some load, but has not been a problem.Positives:1) Very warm and water replellant2) Great value for the price3) Functionality/convenience of quick on/offOverall, excellent value!

Perfect for my needs.
These are absolutely great. Just as advertised. I would highly recommend them. The FULL length zips allow me to take them off without removing my boots. 5*

Great but...
My only major complaint with these isn't a big one, it's that the tightening ability of waist isn't greater and I may have to add more velcro to compensate for this. These are great for taking on and off without having to remove your boots, though the zipper can be a bit frustrating with gloves on. I'd prefer a snap and velcro combination, but I've yet to find that on the market, so until then, these are the best I've found.

Completely satisfied
This item exceeded my expectations. I just returned to skiing after a long absence and ordered this item due to it's reasonable price in case I didn't succeed so didn't want to invest too much money. This Item is as good as anything I looked at that sells for substantially more. They fit me well and are comfortable to wear. The full length sipper (which was my major reason for selecting this item) really makes for easy on and off and is the most outstanding feature in my estimation. I liked these so much, I just order a ski jacket by the same manufacturer. I don't anticipate replacing these pants for a long time.

Good material and quality. Could be better if improvements made.
For the price, it is of better quality than snowpants found in Walmart. It would be better if there were back pockets. Material is good. I like it. It does not feel bulky as most snow pants would. As it is bit too long for me, the zipper seems to protrude. Maybe there could have been a flap cover or Velcro flap to cover the zipper for aesthetic purpose. Overall, I am happy for the purchase.
