If you buy this, you may open up the box and think you're being shortchanged. Reason for this is that it's very small and one would perhaps expect something more substantial. Don't let this put you off though! My previous Tanita scales I thought performed wonderfully but the main issue for me is my bathroom tiles aren't huge so the feet of those scales had to rest on more than one tile. This wouldn't be a problem if the tiles were 100% level but this isn't always the case and certainly not with mine. Don't get me wrong, the tiles look fantastic but there's always some very slight deviation. This means that when the scales were moved, I'd weigh a bit more or a bit less. Odd that because just shifting the scales with my foot shouldn't really burn calories or make me put on muscle that quickly!! The deviation could be up to 0.6lbs so to makes things more consistent, I made a couple of light marks on the tiles so that the scales were in the same place (or thereabouts) each time. Still though, any tiny deviation from this would give me a different reading. This is where these scales 'step in'. They are small enough to sit on a single tile in my bathroom. Also it doesn't seem to matter which tile they're on - i get very consistent results each time. A fantastic feature is that you can set presets and based on those, the scales will recognise who you are - up to 5 person memory which is absolutely fantastic and great for all the family. It means you don't have to press any of the buttons with your toe - just stand on them with your heels on the bottom pads and it will automagically know who you are - you may not think this is useful but the scales use calculations based on your height, age and weight to calculate. Don't worry about your toes hanging over the front - this is not important and quite normal unless you have extremely tiny feet or are a child. There are a plethora of results that the scales give you; body water, body fat etc and the only problem I have with these scales is that the reading, even at my short height, hard to read so you have to step off the scales to get a closer look. To be honest, I use them mainly to just check my weight but occasionally take a closer look to see where I am in terms of body fat. The readings it gives are accurate enough but do not rely on them as definitive figures as they are, in my view, mainly an indication of progress. Excellent set of scales. I don't think you'll be disappointed for the price. If i had to buy another set of scales, as long as these last, I'd buy the same again. Tanita have been in the weighing game for a very long time and know what they're doing. Sure there may be the odd lemon out there but I tend to go with this brand with other household scales. Another drawback is that they're so quick to register your weight, it's tempting to step on them every time you visit the bathroom but that's more of an obsession of mine than a problem with the scales!! You get to realise though what kind of thing shift your weight up such as eating a starchy meal and drinking a lot of fluid increasing your weight due to water retention. Very happy with them :)

Just recieved these, and so far, it seems to be the best £45 I've spent in a long time! Really easy to set up, and didn't take any longer than it should have time wise. The instruction manual is easy to follow, and once set up, the composition guide is just as easy to read and gives a thorough overview what the different features mean. This product has confirmed that although a little visually untoned, I am still within the healthy ranges. Great peace of mind, and a great way to monitor for future. Goes over and above what a regular scale does, and is a great set of scales if you don't want to pay the price tag and quite probably faddy gimmick that smart scales offer inputting the stats to your phone. This scale is value for money and gives straight forward varied readings upfront. Oh and it's got a slick Apple-esque look to it in white with gold font. Light, compact & visually attractive. 5 big fat gold stars!

Very good scale for weighing yourself and measuring your body fat. Highly recommended if you want to monitor your weight and fat; it has been very useful for me. I weigh myself every weekend and can see my progress. Very easy to use—the instructions are straightforward and easy to understand.

The 9 different readings given by the scales are useful if you take to time to understand what each of the readings mean and what you can do to improve your results depending on what you want to achieve. I’m making particular ideas of the muscle mass reading to encourage me to do more resistance training and it’s good to see the results along with the body fat percentage readings which encourage to keep away from the cakes as I feel good when I see that percentage lower.. these scales are better than standard scales if you utilise the readings. I also track my body water content and I love the record form that comes with the scales to keep a note (I wrote the readings down in pencil so I can take monthly readings and then rub the readings out and start again after 12 months to see progress within a year. The scales are lightweight and a bit on the small size.. I take a shoe size 7 and my feet don’t fit on the scales so anyone with larger feet/heavier might feel a little more uncomfortable standing on the scales as they can sometimes feel like they are about to tip before you manage to get both feet onto them to balance. Signing in option could perhaps be made easier but other than that, very useful scales and definitely recommended as long as you plan on understanding the results and acting upon them as required..

Compact and light weight. Accurate and consistent weight measurement. I'm happy I bought these. Love the colour too. It took me a while to work out how to set up profiles for users. You have to input your information and then weigh yourself to save the data. It only has memory going back to your last weigh-in . Reading the body scan results is not easy as they flash through and then disappear if you're not quick to stop them.
