Sooooo excited Mattel made this!
I absolutely LOVE that Barbie came out with a Downs Barbie. I gave her at my desk at work, bought it because a portion of the proceeds went to NDSS. My nephew has Downs and when I saw this I HAD to have it. Super cute and super cool. Thank you Mattel!

Great alternative Barbie - effort appreciated
Short version: Nice alternate Barbie: a bit shorter than the iconic version; "curvy" (wider hips, thicker legs, smaller bust); modified facial features (wider-set eyes with a slight slant, and boxy jaw) but not really much like a person with Down's; FLAT FEET (not tip-toe posed for high heels)! She is great. Long version: My daughter wanted a "doctor" Barbie for her 4th birthday. All I could find were two different pediatrician versions (eyeroll), so, so be it. But once I got it, I was reminded of all I dislike about Barbie. Desperately thin, ridiculous bust-waist-hip proportions, feet stuck in tip-toe position to wear high heels - UGH. I really didn't want my daughter idolizing this thing. Luckily, I had a vague memory that Mattel had made a "fat Barbie" at some time, so I went looking, thinking maybe I'd find one on eBay. I was happily amazed to find the "Fashionistas" series with quite a few options - good on you, Mattel!! As for this "Down's syndrome" doll - just know that the facial features are only vaguely bordering on Down's. Basically, the eyes are a bit wider apart, very slightly slanted, and the jaw is boxy. She looks VERY much like my little one, who does not have Down's. So that's maybe a fail for the doll's purpose, but on the other hand, she is versatile as just a different-looking Barbie. I love her and so does my little one.

Absolutely LOVE her
The inclusivity is amazing. I bought this doll before I even had a daughter, just because I wanted my daughter who is now born, to have dolls of all shape, sizes and abilities! As for the doll itself, condition was great, perfect value for money, she is sooo cute and perfect size Barbie of course! She is well made too!

So cute!
I love how far Barbie’s have come, when I was a kid we only had the standard blonde skinny Barbie. I love that this Barbie has a more “natural” shape and I love that I can give my daughter dolls that all have their own personality. To add, I don’t think her face looks much different than any other Barbie and looking at her we couldn’t tell she is supposed to have Down syndrome as the box states. She is perfect though and the same quality as any Barbie.

Hard to Find Nice Clothes For Her
The doll herself is beautiful, and she has such a sweet face. The only issue I have with the doll is that she is stockier than a regular Barbie doll, and I can’t find nice clothes to fit her. There are some doll clothes that claim to fit a plus-sized Barbie, but they come in a set of 5. The first time that I ordered them, only four outfits were in the set. Two of those outfits are ugly, one outfit is cute and fits perfectly, and the fourth dress is so tiny that it barely fits a regular sized Barbie. No chance in the world it will fit the Down syndrome Barbie. The next time I ordered the plus-sized clothing, I ended up with 2 dresses out of 5 that work with this doll. But I buy many dolls for Operation Christmas Child, and it’s too expensive to dress this doll when I’m paying for 5 outfits and can only use 1 or 2 of them. If a person sews, there wouldn’t be a problem with this doll. The doll itself is very nice.

Une de mes préférées! Visage agréable, ses cheveux sont doux et son corps est petit et courbé. J'aurais aimé que sa robe ait un velcro pour pouvoir la retirer et la remettre plus facilement.
