I would give this scanner six stars if an option was available. Have been using multiple different types of scanners over the years as a shade tree mechanic, but wanted one that was wireless and bidirectional. Thanks to the folks at Royalty Auto and their video reviews and recommendations, I decided on this TOPDON. Glad I did! Quality is great, solid case and display. OBD2 Wireless Plug-in adapter stores neatly in the back of the scanner and works flawlessly. Unit was easy to do initial setup and software updates. Actually first used it on my neighbors BMW 740l to do a service reset and new battery replacement and registration in the system. (Didn’t know that was a thing!? lol) He and I were both blown away at how quickly this scanner auto recognized the vehicle and established comms. It took no time to reset his service intervals and do the BMS battery maintenance/replacement systems update. Simply blown away. Plugged it into his GMC Yukon Denali next and it just as quickly went through that vehicle’s systems. Even has the option to adjust the air ride suspension settings with this scanner. Absolutely blown away for the capabilities at this price point. It runs Android 11 and can be used as a regular touch screen tablet as well, along with having a camera. Mind blown. Don’t hesitate to buy if considering.

Well what can I say, this scan tool meets and exceeded my expectations. It seems to be able to do everything the more expensive brands do for way less money. I find that it is very easy to use and navigate the different screens in the menu system. It is very quick as well. The auto VIN identifies your vehicle quickly and then scans all the modules and shows everything from stored codes to active codes. Finding out what's going on with your vehicle is a breeze with this tool. Don't wait, buy it and you won't be sorry.

Before I purchased this, I had been running handheld scanners of all types. Always wanting a bidirectional, but unwilling to part with thousands of dollars. Received the item quickly. It comes in a nice protective case with all included cables and documents. First thing I used it on was my DD Silverado that I’d been having strange electrical issues on for a few years now. Plugged in the device, it synched up with the tablet quickly, read the vin in about five seconds (reads newer vehicles quicker), and started the scan. All told it took less than five minutes to roll through the 28 different tests on my truck. Was able to pick up the interface and using the device quickly, pulled three extra dtc’s my old scanner never saw. Ran live data, and saw that cylinders 2,4,6, were all misfiring, and found out it was due to a new O2 sensor that had decided to quit. Was able to monitor my 5v sensors and see that my ect sensor was getting intermittent voltage. Literally took less than 30 min with this device to trace down what had been nagging me for a couple of years. It runs android iOS, has chrome for a browser. Once it is connected to WiFi everything is seamless, any question I had while using it were all easily answered through the systems help function. It has a cameras for scanning vins, plenty of storage. It’s just a great tool. I rarely am happy about anything I receive any more, always seems like I am reduced to just dealing with a products shortcomings. This unit is bidirectional, so you can run individual system tests to determine failure. There is so much more it can do, I still haven’t even cracked the surface of its capabilities. Got it on sale $150 off. Even at full price it would still have been cheaper than the three other scanners I’ve had over the years, plus throwing parts at what I thought the problem may be. Zero complaints. Worth every penny. Anyone who works vehicles more than they want to would benefit from this greatly.

This is very nice and easy to use. Updates my Kia software in the car and diagnosed a fuel issue immediately. Can use to do the brakes as well on newer cars you must place car in that mode to do brakes.

For the better part of a month I have been using the Topdon ArtiDiag 900 Lite every day. I diagnose vehicles will many different scan tools: Dealer Laptops $3000 annual subscription (each) Snapon Zues $7000 initial purchase, $1000 annual subscription I gravitated towards this scanner for the following uses: Grab and go Compact Quick Vehicle Resets like : battery and throttle position sensor relearns Quick Clear all computers after service Quick Maintenance modes Parking lot diags outside the shop The Topdon Artidiag900lite lays in the top draw of my roll around cart, and takes less space then a set of sockets. This makes it easy to perform all scans on every customer car that enters the shop, and I can instantly send the scans to customers or service advisors. The Topdon Artidag900lite performs the best during routine services and post maintenance. Dealer tools are not wireless and you have to stay with the tool in the driver seat, using the Topdon Artidiag900lite I can wirelessly monitor the progress of updates, reprograms, and module resets. This adds a new level to multitasking. The wireless range of the Topdon Artidiage900Lite really shines when performing "Bi-Directional" support. The ability to wireless walk around a vehicle and command components of the vehicle to activate and/or move is a game changer. This feature paid for the tool in one diagnostic visit. Example 1: Customer Stated there is a rattle at idle and after engine start. Normally this would require the need for someone to sit in the driver seat, pressing the accelerator pedal, while I walked around the vehicle listening for a rattle. Now I can command the vehicle to increase RPM, how I want it, to the exact number. Using a car lift, I raised the vehicle and walked around the exhaust shields as I remotely adjusted the engine RPM. Example 2: After replacing a transmission assembly, you need to perform a transmission relearn for the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The Topdon Artidiag900Lite had no problem handling this, with a dealer tool I have to sit in the driver seat and monitor the temperature levels during warmup. Now I can wireless monitor the temperature levels while I clean up my area and put away tools. The resourcefulness is unquestionable. Community Shop Scanners are never returned or found dead on someones toolbox. Or when I'm in position of a Community Shop Scanner, another tech will be bothering me for it; because they cannot find the other community shop scanner. The affordability of the The Topdon Artidiag900lite has made all the routine tasks of a Dear Scan Tool faster and dramatically less stressful. Datalogging with the Scan tool is easy to set up, record, and save for future playback. For the first time the table hardware is more powerful than the software; usually it's the other way around, and the product suffers with every update. The table screen is sharp and easy to see from any direction, the HDMI out port is a great edition, for hooking up to monitors. Other ports like USB A and USB C are a great addition for third party devices; bore scopes and thermal imagers. The Topdon Artidiag900lite also has a screen capture button hot keyed at the bottom for quick pictures of the screen. Overall this product is a must have for beginner mechanics and expert diagnosticians. The Topdon Artidiag900Lite is priced perfectly and offers more support than it's overpriced competitors on the tool trucks. I would recommend this tool to every mechanic, technician, and DIYer.

-update . Do not buy from Amazon because there’s two different warranty departments . One is TopDon US and another is TopDon global . If you buy from Amazon you have to deal with TopDon Global and they do not have access to TopDon US . You will have to explain everything up to 3 times . Eventually they will stop replying to emails when is time to replace the device . All that to tell you the warranty is only 1 year. My scan tool lasted 1 year and 1 month . The scan tool is great until it breaks . Do not buy it because once is time to get it fixed they will make it impossible . They make you call tech support , then tech support came to conclusion it needs to be replaced but they make u start over by filling out a ticket on their website . The people on the website pretend they have no clue what happened on the call during tech support . Then they start emailing you to try everything you already tried over the phone . After that they send you back to the scan tool to fill out another ticket to start from 0 again . Then they recommend going thru Amazon but Amazon gives you their tech support phone # . To start from 0 again . I love the scan tool till I realize the support is not really support instead is a system that will make u give up and go buy another one .

I originally made a 1 star review. After being contacted by seller I felt I needed to modify my review. I bought this scanner thinking it had bidirectional control. It does but not in the sense that it could do actuator testing. Like testing window motors or control injectors, or monitor 02 sensors or hvac servos. I have a cheep launch tablet that does that or at least shows state of operation. But the functionality of this scanner is in line with the price. Especially with the 150.00 coupon. For a basic backyard scanner it is pretty nice. The build quality is top notch. Feels great in my hands. Fast boot up. Fast communication. Great screen. Good touch screen sensitivity. I didn't get a lot of time going through the functionality because I couldn't get the Bluetooth dongle to sync. I tried several vehicles. On first start it's necessary to sync the obd dongle and tablet so the scanner can register the dongles ID and serial number. I spent many hours trying different things. Checking the Bluetooth on the tablet for operation. The tablet saw every Bluetooth device around me except the dongle. I tried to at least see the dongles Bluetooth on my phone. When you plug in the dongle first time it's supposed to go into sync mode. Light is on but no signal. Then I tried the included USB cable. The software then saw the dongle and pulled the requested information and auto filled the information boxes. While still attached by usb I was able to perform the operations available. Now that the tablet had the necessary info I tried to use the tablet without the cable. Nope! I couldn't see the vehicles. I'm changing my review from 1 star to 4. The seller reached out to me and offered to accept a return and said they will send me a shipping label. I would give the seller a 5 star review if I could but no way to split reviews up. I take 1 star away because of the faulty dongle. I suspect that this tablet has a problem with most. Hence the 150.00 coupon. Some people will be just fine being tethered to the device. I don't take away any stars for the performance. I think it does exactly what the advertisement says. It's a basic diagnostic device. It's a really well built device. Even has hdmi output that topdons premium tablets don't. I need to connect the tablet to a external TV. The device has a camera and records video. I need to display the video and screen shots on a TV for my customers to see. I found that this model didn't have the functionality I needed. For the price I payed I would have kept it and gave it to my son and purchase a professional unit. But because of the dongle issue I have to return it. I didn't ask to have it replaced because I suspect the problem will remain. So I give 5 stars to seller 4 stars to the tablet and software 1 star to the dongle.

The TOPDON bidirectional scan tool is fantastic — it’s fast, accurate, and very user-friendly. I was able to read and clear codes, run active tests, and check live data without any issues. The screen is clear, and the interface is intuitive, even for someone who’s not a professional mechanic. It covers a wide range of vehicles, and the bidirectional functions really help with testing sensors and actuators. Overall, it’s a solid, reliable tool for both DIYers and professionals.
