The instructions state that you should not place them too closely to one another otherwise they will interfere with one another when using the remote. Regarding motion, they will both come on, but not necessarily in 100% sync, as they are two separate units, and it depends on where the motion is first detected.

they are wireless. you only need usb to charge the batteries. I charged mine 1 at a time.

How can you get the always on mode to stay on? it always resorts back to motion sense. i want the lights to stay on when i hit the on button.

on the remote there is a button" to stay on" and on the light bar itself is a small button on the end that has on off and auto - switch it to ON ,,, if it continues to go off after you try this it may be a built in feature to preserve the battery time i love these items - its so easy to use and automatically turns on every time i open either the closet or bedroom closet doors - try this first - good luck
