Kidde Smoke Detector, Hardwired Smoke Alarm, Pack of 4, White & Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector with Voice Alerts, Battery Powered, Combination Smoke & CO Alarm

My existing FireX fire detectors were from 2007, so long overdue for replacing. I purchased 3 of these Kiddee and the wiring adapters to save myself the anguish of having to rewire. The units work fine, but with a 10 year life span, it is unfortunate that I received units dated OCT 2021. That's essentially 20% of the life span of these units. Seller should attempt to ensure that his inventory is turned frequently, so that buyers receive their expected full lifetime of the units purchased.Ordered a couple more not realizing I had overlooked them. This order arrived with maunfacturing dates of APR 2023. This is what was expected and I appreciate the seller paying attention to buyer reviews.

Easy to install if you have some electrical experience as the pigtails provided were different from my originals. Every detector worked just fine, very easy to replace the battery with the front loading cover vs. having to remove my old detectors from the ceiling to replace a battery in the past

The best feature is the "pop-to-open" battery compartment. The other feature that I like is that it does NOT have an alarm that sounds at "end of life" of the smoke alarm.Such a "feature" would force you to replace your perfectly good smoke alarms at the end of 10 year life. I would really be annoyed if mine had such a "feature".If you're replacing your old Firex alarms do not bother with the Kidde KA-F2 adapters - they don't fit! Just wire them directly. It's easy and does not take more time.

This is a good product. Easy to install. Loud as can be. Has green indicator light to show it is properly installed. Will work with battery if power failure occurs. Has hot and cold wire plus grounding wire is available if wanted. Comes with the mounting bracket for the alarm so you can take it down fairly easily if wanted.

Replaced 25 year old smoke detectors with these and have been working great so far. Had to switch off power to replace the connectors, but at least learned which circuit breaker powers them (the basement circuit strangely enough). Based on the self test they communicate with each other and are plenty loud.

Kidde hardwired smoke detector has worked well and was easy to install.

Plug and play replacement of the 19 year old previous smoke detector. great feature that it has battery compartment on the outside so you dont have to take it off mounting bracket to replace battery. only negative is that the included battery was dead

Wow, I was amazed how easy it was to replace our hard wired smoke detector of indeterminate age with this Kidde unit. Turned off the electricity at the circuit breaker. Removed the old smoke detector and disconnected the wires. Screwed the new mounting plate into the existing ceiling junction box, connected the two wires in the included wiring harness to the wiring in the ceiling (don't have multiple alarms in any kind of circuit), screwed the detector into the base, tested the alarm with the battery installed. Turned on the electricity and tested the alarm without the battery installed. Done in less than 15 minutes. The old unit was yellowed with age. The new unit is a nice, bright white and looks great.
