I'm so happy we got this
Our old 7 pin connector was broken and falling off our truck, so we decided to get one that had both 7 and 4 pins, as our trailers have both. This one caught my eye and was super easy to install - took all of 30 minutes, including testing. The ground pin on the 4 pin connector was bent when it arrived (as seen in the video), but I pushed it back into place and it works fine. When I was doing some work on the truck, I decided to get rid of the 7 to 7 connection and wire this one up directly, which was also a breeze. I twas easy enough to cut off the 7 pin end (with enough wire on both ends to allow for re-use - I attached the removed 7 pin connector to another of our vehicles, for example). The product photos show the wiring diagram and color coding - sure you can easily find it on the internet, but it's always great when the manufacturer makes it so readily available as it provides reassurance on wire colors. We've subject it to harsh conditions - heat, water, snow, cold, mud, etc. and, so far, no problems. NOTE! I see another review stating that te 4 pin connector 'just hangs there', which is definitely not the case, as there is a specific piece/bracket included for the 4 pin connector to attach to the main bracket. Just look at the product photos to see what I mean - the part is that flat rectangular piece. Maybe it was missing from their package?

Worked well for my 2013 F150
Needed to update my four pin to a 7 pin for my trailer for the brakes and my brake controller to work. I had bought the truck but didn't need to use a trailer until just recently. This worked as expected.

Decent quality trailer receptacle that has both 7- & 4-way connections
I like this because you don't have to use an adapter from 7-way to 4-way, it has both receptacles built in. Installation was a breeze, utilizing the factory tow cabling/connector. My only complaint is the 7-way receptacle hinge lid is a bit on the cheap side. I'm guessing the metal hardware will rust within the first year and I can see the lid not making it through the winter. The wiring is of good quality and the gauges seem to match factory wiring.

Convenient dual wiring setup
I got this to replace a damaged version of the same thing -- I had backed into something and messed up my wiring. It's really convenient to have the dual wiring setup, because some LED brake/turn signal strips work off the 4-pin plug, but all medium-large consumer trailers use the 7 pin plug. With this you can run both, or two types of trailers. The connectors in the back of the main 7 prong plug could have been a higher quality. I have a curtis one which has beefier brass plated contacts to help transfer the power. These just look tin plated and are lower gauge. It may not matter to most, but remember that on one of those wires you may be charging your electronic trailer brake battery. I'd like if the internal pins were of higher quality, and coated to prevent corrosion. Install is typical difficulty, there's no getting around it.

Disappointed the 4way connector is not held in place
I bought this to install on my son's truck as it didn't have any connector. The primary thing I was looking for was a combined 7 way and 4 way receptacle. While this does have both, the 4 way plug just sits there with nothing holding it in the bracket. It is usable this way, but it makes connecting and disconnecting a 4 way wire more trouble than it should be. I still give it 3 stars because it does have the connector, but as it didn't really work the way I expected, I can't give it more than that.

Good quality hitch Jack Converter
This is a great device to convert a 7 pin hitch wiring apparatus to a dual 7 pin round and a 4 pin flat Jack. This way you can have access to hitches with either type of jack. My Ford Explorer had only a 7 pin round receptacle. You remove the stock Jack, and disconnect the harness. Then run the male end side through the hole and connect the harness, and let the 4 pin flat Jack through and out. The holes don’t perfectly match with the Ford hitch, so I screwed the lower left side in, then took a piece of aluminum and fashioned it with a vice and ball peen hammer to create a hook to hang the 4 pin jack. I drilled a hole and used the stock screw to hold it in place. The 4 pin hangs perfectly from the hook.Installation took around a half hour. It fits great, works well, and I highly recommend this adapter!

4-pin attachment falls out of bracket.
It was fairly easy to install with a few drilled holes. Once assembled (which was all guesswork since their were no included instructions) I noticed there is nothing to hold the 4-pin adapter from pulling through it's bracket. Not sure if it's a flaw or designed that way on purpose though.
