Review: True Blue. - Good value. Arrived on time. Worked well. Happy days.
Review: Relatively easy process to upscale jeans! - Whatever I’m doing wrong each and every pair of my coloured chinos prematurely wears in one place. It doesn’t matter if they’re expensive or cheap, they all suffer the same fate I.e. going to the ragging yard despite being 90% ok but the 10% makes them unsightly and unwearable. It was suggested I tried Dylon. Without raving about the end result my chinos are simply look like brand new and the only difference is the pockets which have been dyed also. The process is quite lengthy if like me you follow the instructions to the letter. My washing machine was running in the various cycles including cleaning and cold water rinses no load empty - for just over 6.5hours. But my partner has a device for measuring the electricity consumed by the washing machine and the actual cost was just under 4 units of electric. So combining with the cost of the Dylon I got a newly refurbished pair of chinos for less than ten quid, ok it’s a wee bit of hassle because your washing machine is tied up for the duration of the dying and subsequent cleaning cycles (so that your lovely whiter than white garment doesn’t have a tinge of unwanted colour). But for me that simply means I save money on buying new, on driving to the shops and environmentally good by prolonging otherwise good clothing.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Would it dye chiffon**
A: not if polyester or other synthetic fibre, no.
Dylon machine dyes only dye natural fabrics and blends. You would need something like Rit DyeMore for Synthetics, which needs to be dyed fully submersed, very carefully in a large pan of boiling water.

**Q: can i use it on white, curry stained, white napkins**
A: Yes it would work well to hide the stains , it’s a good strong yellow colour .

**Q: Will this even out patchy light blue jeans that has white bleach stains on it**
A: It's not very good on bleach stain patches unfortunately, I tried this with a blue dress and the patches remained, slightly darker but not completely removed.

**Q: Do you need to use salt ? Would like to know before I buy**
A: Just follow the instructions on the pack, no salt needed.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked well
*by J***O on 15 April 2026*

Worked well, used on a pair of jeans that fitted perfectly but I wasn’t keen on the marked line design on front so wanted all one colour. I was nervous in case the blue dyed my other clothes in other washes but it was ok. I did do a few dark washes before whites though. Also I cleaned the door and inside lip after.
