Can it detect me lost 1 inch mp3 player in clothing cabinet?

This device worked a miracle for me: found a watch in17’ of water - BUT - it only signals within 4-6” of lost object. It’s great claim to fame is that it’s immersible.

Anybody test the rm ricomax vs dr otek

I use both. To me the Rico is a little more sensitive. The rico has row of indicator lights as opposed the a single multicolor on the ortek. I like the rico lights better. The only advantage of the otek, is that is waterproof to 10M. The Rico is waterproof to maybe 4 inches. Rico is not good on beaches. When I got mine ,took it to the beach and it got splashed. Killed it. A good thing I can say about the Rico. When I got home after splashing, I removed the battery and left it open overnight. Lo and behold, next day I installed the battery and it worked. It's a pretty tough pinpointer. I have to retune it more often than the Otek. If I'm hunting dry ground the Rico is my choice. Beach hunting Otek is the one. All in all, the Rico is more sensitive.

will it detect sprinkler heads?

If the sprinkler heads are constructed with metal then yes. The sprinkler heads I have installed are plastic to operate better and last longer. If that is what you have then no it will not detect them.

Could this locate bird shot in geese and duks?

No, it cannot! After reading this post I purchased the Dr. Otek over other options, thinking I finally found a solution to finding bird shot in carcasses. As soon as it arrived, I put it to the test, using both lead (#7) and steel (#3) shot placed about 1/2" deep in some left-over chicken. I immediately got a reading and thought I found the answer to my prayers - but I was wrong. The detector is very sensitive and will pick up electrical wires beneath the surface or nails in the tops of table legs, but it did not pick up my bird shot. When placed in the open, the detector registered the #3 steel shot when it was within 1 cm. The only time it registered the lead shot was when it was touching it. I know it was a lot to ask but I was optimistic after reading this post. Now you know and I'll be returning the unit.

Just received this today, and although I didn't really take it out detecting yet, I find the build quality and functionality of it quite good for the price. I put it on my table and introduced CDN coins to it, and it seems to start detecting them at about 3.25 inches from the pointer's tip. I'm sure this will be a good pointer to compliment my new Nokta Triple Score. If any problems arise, I will edit this post, but for now I'm quite pleased with my purchase. I highly recommend if you want a decent pinpointer without breaking the bank. UPDATE: I finally took the pinpointer out and this is my update. I really think this pinpointer is excellent value for the money. It is very good a pinpointing a target, and responds very well. One thing I noted is that it does get interference from my Triple score if I lay it next to the hole, this is solved by placing the detector a bit further so as not to get interference OR pressing the filter button on the pinpointer, which works but you lose a bit of Dr. Otek's range. Not a big deal. On the down side it is a bit too easy to accidentally press the power button when holding the pinpointer, I think with time I'll adapt to a better way to access it. For those who don't read instruction manuals, know that once you power on the pinpointer, if you fast press the power button twice it shuts off the LED light. I would not have known this had I not read the manual. I still highly recommend this pinpointer, I believe it'll be my pointer for a very long time.

Really helps you locate the precise place you need to dig to find buried materials in the sand. Helps tremendously with your time as you don't have to spend time digging i the wrong place.
