If you know what it's for, it does that thing well.
This isn't a webchat camera. You shouldn't buy this if you're looking to record videos for YouTube, or if you want to stream to Twitch. This also isn't the camera you want to retrofit an old film camera with a Raspberry Pi.The main benefit to a high speed, global shutter camera like this is for any type of computer vision or tracking project. The 'resolution' of the video and photos isn't all that impressive, but in exchange for that you get 90 frames a second and a global shutter. The benefit being is, unlike a standard electronic shutter, this camera takes whole frames - all of the lines of video - in a single snap. And does it 90 times a second. That's perfect for motion tracking or other computer vision uses. I tested mine out with a few different CV projects including a virtual avatar, and it was a night and day difference. Even compared to higher-end, 4K mirrorless camera. The increase in resolution didn't make the tracking any more accurate. It was a much better experience using 'low resolution' video with the global shutter and the higher frame rate.Outside of it not getting the 'jellyvision' when filming something like a ceiling fan, those trade-offs don't really make this well suited to general video capture.

Great picture, a little expensive
I was impressed with the picture quality of this camera. The limited angle gives a picture closest to what your eyes would see making this an excellent webcam. It does have quite a bit of grain which you may be able to adjust for. It is quite expensive currently, so I would've liked some kind of housing to be included so this could easily be used as a webcam if you want. It's plug-and-play so it works right away, you just won't be able to mount it or put it anywhere without making/printing/buying a case. The cable is also pretty short.

It works
Franky, for the posted cost of this, a good webcam can be had at a higher resolution, betterframerate, and increased low light performance. snap at the highest resolution attached to review. In a lit family room - notice the noise. Pics outside are fine in full daylight. Doesnt have an type of AGC.

Nice camera for robotics
This camera has a feature that is really good for robotics image processing and identification. That feature is the global shutter. Most USB cameras use a rolling shutter. The global shutter snaps the entire frame at once instead of rolling through the image. For image processing in robotics this helps reduce instances where you get half of the previous frame and half of the current frame. The resolution is Full HD (1920x1080) for robotics, you don't always want higher resolutions because it takes too much processing power to process higher resolution images. You can use this camera as a regular web cam for meetings and stuff, but it's not ideal for that. It doesn't come with an enclosure since for robotics applications you will probably be mounting it differently or 3D printing your own enclosure or mount. For a Global Shutter camera with this resolution and frame rate, the price of this camera is a good value.

Pricy 2MP basic camera for Raspberry Pi
I needed a camera for my Raspberry Pi, and this one showed up in my Vine Voice feed. It seems to be good quality and it works with my Raspberr Pi, but my advice is to search around and comparison shop.

60 frames per second clarity
This is the third camera with similar build and quality I have reviewed. The others were 8MP and 2MP, this one is only 1MP. However, at 720p, but with 60fps, this one delivers clear video that can be used in most applications, especially if you're not using it to monitor a huge street intersection or ballfield. I've set all three of mine up here on the electronics bench and tested for clarity, color etc, and they all do the job as designed. This 1MP camera, for most relatively close applications is as clear and fast as the 8MP one. They are all easy plug and play cameras ready out of the box for your project. Just plug into a USB slot, fire up almost any camera app, and you have video ready to monitor or record. I would buy this camera.

Good, but grainy
The media could not be loaded. This is a pretty good HD camera, and it supports both 60fps and 30fps in all video modes, but the image is rather grainy under indoor lighting. You can see the short video that I took at it's maximum settings, but it does not support the 90fps that it claims. I haven't tried it outside under Sunlight, but based on previous experiences I don't believe that it would make a difference. There is very little motion blur, but you can see it when the image moves quickly. At the time of this review the price is $82.99 and that is way too high of a price for this camera, so I can't recommend this camera. Because of the grainy picture, and the fact that it does not support 90fs, I am only giving the camera 3 stars. This camera is pretty much on par with the standard Pi camera, but with a USB interface.

Good Camera
I discovered the camera was for different applications than I usually used. So it wasn't helpful. Check to see if its the right camera for you.
