JJ Electronic ECC83 S (USA Code 12AX7) Premium Tested Amp Valve Tube

I bought this as a last chance for a secondhand Nobosound Little Bear G3 tube drive pedal which was proving to be somewhat troublesome and erratic in regard to volume. Having read that it was possible to change the stock 6N2 valve with an ECC83 / 12AX7 (which was supposed to help tame the grittiness of the gain from the 6N2) and suspecting that the tube was responsible for the issues I was experiencing with the pedal I thought I would give it a try. On fitting the new 12AX7 I found sound quality was markedly improved (still retaining the grit but giving it a more polished and smoother quality) and so far there has been no erratic behaviour from the Little Bear. It's early days but so far I am impressed. The item was ordered at 17:00 and delivered next day so the customer service from Spartan Music is excellent. The only quibble was that the valve could have been better packaged.

Swapped for a dying tube in a Supro delta king. JJ's are reliable and good value.

Bought after doing some research as I wanted to give my 20 year old Marshall VS100 a new life, lots of people (on lots of forums etc) recommended this specific brand. Fitting was easy as hell. Seems to work well... as for tone I can't give you an honest opinion as anyone who knows how tone "works" will know the main part of your tone is in your speaker, and I had changed my speaker at the same time. However I can say this Amp sounds amazing now compared to how it sounded before, I'd like to think it was a combination of new (better) valve and speaker upgrade... Just an honest view of things. If I was to replace any more valves in any of my other equipment though I can say I would use this brand again.

This worked well and was a good replacement to a bad valve.

This valve has revived my Vox vt30 amp. Just when I thought all was lost, I put this bad boy in and my amp came back to life. Great price and easy to install

Ordered three of these now via Amazon and two have been damaged due poor packaging. Placing them in a cardboard envelope is not sufficient to protect them during transportation. Will order from Watford valves in future to save the hassle of Amazon returns. Good valves though and at good price…if they arrive in one piece. If the tube turns white after powering up then it’s either faulty manufacturing or has been damaged in transit.
