This is a quality piece. Precise metal work, wood, and shiny chrome with no blemishes. The filter basket is about 17-19 gram and is well made. It has a smooth wall with no retainer indent. The filter holes are clean and uniform. When properly loaded, it makes a good tasting espresso with nice crema. The metal tip at the end is probably a touch too much, but doesn't hurt. It fits my ECP3420 well and stops right at 6 o'clock after tightening. I saw the reviews reporting a cracked wooden handle and I waterproofed mine with several coats of tung oil. This should protect the handle from water damage.

Good quality and finish - nice and heavy, fits perfectly in my Delonghi. Works exactly as advertised.

First, I am using this pf on a Delonghi Stilosa (EC260) - my overall experience of it is that it is excellent, and provides great and consistent espresso shots. I had one issue when first using it: the puck was only half extracted, some sharp spills and ages to get the coffee out. I then realised that my shower screen was too tight from the last clean, forcing water only on half of the puck. My guess is that the original pressurised basket is a lot more forgiving of this kind of issues, because you have to grind very coarse to get a shot in a decent time - this means that imbalance in the water pressure does not matter much as most of the resistance comes from the bottom of the puck / basket, not the top of the puck. After unscrewing the shower screen a little bit, and making sure the water flowed evenly, the pf worked perfectly well. I suspect, overloading the puck with too much coffee, or a dirty puck screen could create similar issues . Just to be clear: this issue will be the same for ANY bottomless pf vs a pressurised basket and has more to do with the poor design of the Stilosa. I 100% recommend this pf - it feels excellent quality and provides a significant upgrade over the Delonghi pressured basket, only caveat is that you have to be a lot more cautious about how you tinker with your Stilosa, especially after a clean.

The item works well in my DeLonghi Stilosa with no leakage but it does have a learning curve as some other reviewers have mentioned. First off, the basket is larger then the double espresso basket that comes with the machine which has been the most difficult part to deal with. If i didn’t want to have a wet sloppy puck I would need to fill the basket with 20g of grounds and extract for 25-30 seconds but the coffee would turn out extremely strong and not enjoyable to drink. After doing a bit of research with my own trial and error I discovered 16g (two scoops with the scooper supplied with machine) of grounds with a 25 second extraction would produce the proper americano for me. The puck is still really wet and sloppy but research told me that you never want to under extract (keep between 25-35 seconds) so the only way was to lower the amount of grounds. Even though I lowered the amount with this basket it’s still uses 1/2 scoop more grounds then with the basket it came with. So if you own a Stilosa it wont leak so go ahead and give it a try.
