Seahorse is great. The button mounting is weak.
The Seahorse itself is as advertised and sturdy. It mounted easily over my old flush doorbell location. Unlike other decorative doorbells that simply tape on, I like that there are screws to hold the unit in place. Popping out the new button to wire was also easy. However, getting the button to seat securely again in the seahorse body after wiring is not easy. It is a weak press fitting that holds the button in the Seahorse hole.The problem is that with my 20AWG solid doorbell wire pair and the side screw mounting of the new button that even a little pressure from the wires pushed into the Seahorse causes the door bell to not seat securely and easily pop out. After several wire trims, a little back excavation in my door trim panel I gave up on perfection and super glued the button face to the Seahorse.A better method to secure the bell button in the Seahorse is needed.
