Keratin Powder (50 g / 1.76 oz) - Cosmetic Grade for DIY Hair Masks Shampoos Conditioners & Serums

So I thought I'd try it out, as I have rough spots on my front teeth from chewing my nails for decades. Supposedly, keratin mixed in with toothpaste that has calcium carbonate in it will fix bad enamel spots. Now, I went through an entire bag before seeing results, but it may be because this keratin is a little grainy instead of powdery, I don't know. But, I am seeing results. Very thin, and it may take another bag or two before my front teeth are sealed, but I AM getting results. They're pretty minimal, but I really don't want caps on my front teeth, and the temporary seal that you get at the dentist doesn't work for ****. Mine came off after the first meal. I can feel the seal starting, as the edges of my teeth are smoother to the tip of my tongue.

This keratin is amazing my clients love my shampoo and conditioner bar the quality of this product make your products shine.. definitely worth it..highly recommended

I love this product and the keratin is so good for my hair. I made conditioners and hair masks to which my hairstylist thought I had gotten my hair trimmed somewhere else. It mixes well and really adds another level of moisturizing and anti-aging to skin and hair products. My only critique is the size of the product. There is really not that much in there and you pay quite a bit for only a small amount. I wish the company would have a larger size of this product.

Keratin is a protein that makes up a large portion of your hair, nails, and outer layer of skin. I've been wanting to use it as an additive for my skincare and haircare products for some time now for the benefits it can provide. In my soaps, I use silk protein, which provides a really nice feel to the lather. While silk protein (aka fibroin) and keratin are similar, they are not identical. Keratin is practically insoluble in water. Most of the recipes I have found call for hydrolyzed keratin, which is not the same as the 100% keratin being offered here. In order to hydrolyze it, it needs to be broken down into amino acids by some type of strong alkali. I use lye to break down my silk protein and used the same for this keratin powder. It's important to keep the temperature of the lye solution low enough not to scorch the keratin and stink up the place something fierce. However, even in the best of situations, it will still stink like sulfur. Once the keratin is completely dissolved, the excess alkali in the solution needs to be neutralized if it is to be used in a skincare product. This can be done with any number of acids from citric to acetic to hydrochloric, but the product of the reaction will be different (i.e., sodium citrate, sodium acetate, sodium chloride, respectively). Once you have a pH neutral (for skin) or slightly acidic (for hair) solution of hydrolyzed keratin, you can feel free to add it to your skincare and haircare formulations as desired.

Huele fatal. Que me daño el lote de shampoo y acondicionador a los que se lo agregue. Se supone que no tiene aroma, y ahora que hago con estas pérdidas. Debe de ser honestos y decir que tiene olor a químicos. Mega molesta.
