## Description

From the producer of Whiplash and The Purge, Jason Blum, comes a chilling, psychological thriller-horror that marks the feature directorial debut of acclaimed actor and writer Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby, Zero Dark Thirty, Warrior). Simon (Jason Bateman; Horrible Bosses, Arrested Development) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall; Transcendence, Iron Man 3) are a young married couple whose life is going just as planned until a chance encounter with an acquaintance from Simon’s high school sends their world into a harrowing tailspin. Simon doesn’t recognize Gordo (Joel Edgerton) at first, but after a series of uninvited encounters and mysterious gifts prove troubling, a horrifying secret from the past is uncovered after more than 20 years. As Robyn learns the unsettling truth about what happened between Simon and Gordo, she starts to question: how well do we really know the people closest to us, and are past bygones ever really bygones?

Joel Egerton acted in and Directed this original and scary blu-ray film.Just three main actors but EVERYONE of them delivers a memorable performance in this tense thriller.10/10 in my humble opinion. So glad to own it on blu-ray.Thank you,A Happy Blu-ray Film Fan.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A good movie, scary and unnerving
*by D***N on 10 September 2018*

A good movie, scary and unnerving. It’s unusual in that it is written, directed by and stars Joel Edgerton - clearly a talent. Bateman and Hall play the ‘normal’ couple just fine, until things start to unravel . . .

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Hitchcock
*by P***S on 22 December 2015*

This film for me was one of those that went under the radar a little bit. I had seen a trailer for the film and thought it looked interesting, but in the usual fashion these days with it being a small film, it wasn't on anywhere and was pushed out by the latest £150 million release. So now I have finally got round to watching it and found it to be a very compelling psychological thriller. In the beginning this looks like the typical "home invasion" type thriller. However, as the story progresses, it becomes clear that isn't the case and isn't your generic violent thriller. The film has complex characters and asks the viewer some difficult moral questions. The film is written, directed and stars Joel Edgerton in his directorial debut. It's no easy task to juggle all of these roles, but Edgerton does it very well. He's script is tight and he's direction is tighter. He also gives a subtle and often at times creepy performance. He's co-leads are Rebecca Hall and Jason Bateman. Both are great in this, especially Bateman. What's brilliant about his role in this, is he plays against type. At first, on the surface, Bateman's character appears to be another character sporting the nice guy Everyman persona that Bateman has become synonymous with, but as the story unfolds, his character isn't quite the man you think he is. Bateman sells it really well and I hope to see him in more dramatic roles in the future.Directorial debuts don't come much better than this. Edgerton makes the 'triple threat' look easy and makes a smooth transition into directing with this original character study using the thriller genre, with some great performances from his co-leads.
