**Q: what is the depth of the magnet? I'm welding 1/2" sq tube, and the larger ones get trapped in the groove.**
A: I believe you are asking the dimension of the inside grove of the magnet, if so it is 5/16” with the outside dimension of 9/16” thick, hope this helps

A: good stainless steel is not magnetic

A: 4 magnets-- I use them on various welding art projects. The scale of these mags work well for me
