Very Satisfied With Performance
I bought this as a replacement for a Oregon Scientific weather station that was in operation for about 15 years. The transmitter failed on the old one. The new unit has a bigger receiver, and is easier to read. I compared the tempeture reading to other therometers, and is is very accurate. Additional features such as indoor humiduity, and weather forcast are useful. It seems that the new transmitter is more powerful than the older model. I kept the old receiver, and have it in the bedroom on the second floor. It picks up the outdoor tempature from the other side of the house with no problem. There are only two negatives. One is the annoying flashing light when the outdoor tempeature gets near freezing. I put a piece of tape over it so I would not see it. The second thing is that the receiver is not able to be wall mounter. I simply made a mounting bracket out of plastic, and super glued it to the back of the unit.Overall, I'm very satisfied with the performance of this weather station.

accurate, easy to read
have only had this 1 month, but so far happy with this temperature station. Large display, easy to read, keep outdoor sensor under cover and battery has not given any problems. Flashing green light, alerts to ice/ freezing temp., which is important where I live., due to driving conditions.Happy with this product.update, after 4-5 months,, occasionally it doesnt ' read' at all... even changing batteries doesnt help- sometimes after waiting abit.. it will start working/ reading again.. the transmitter is under cover, so it isnt being affected by being wet.

Not the greatest product but really wanted the outside transmitter for my old indoor unit
I've had an indoor/outdoor thermometer purchased from LL Bean for over 10 years. It's worked great until the outdoor transmitter finally died last month. I love the indoor unit and wanted to purchase a replacement but LL Bean no longer sells this. After much searching I found that the LL Bean unit is actually an Oregon Scientific unit so I searched for a replacement outdoor transmitter on their site. Unfortunately it says it's no longer sold. More searching and I found this unit on Amazon. Thankfully the outside transmitter works with my old LL Bean base unit! I went ahead and set up the new unit thinking I would use it in another room of my house but I'm sorry to say it doesn't work well at all. After several tries at setting and resetting the whole unit the temperature won't stay connected and the time keeps going back 3 hours. Only reason I gave this 3 stars is because the outdoor transmitter works great with my old LL Bean unit!

Good Product
We have used this type of device (different brand) at two different houses for several years. One problem with other brand devices has been short battery life and reduced coverage range in cold weather. We bought a single Oregon Scientific receiver and sending unit two years ago and tested it side by side with the other product. It quickly became clear that the Oregon Scientific receiver provided stronger signal strength for better range and it also provided accurate time and a weather forecast. Also, the battery in the sending unit lasted the full two years which was a nice benefit.Given our satisfaction we bought three more units for use at both houses and at inside and outside locations. The receivers track up to three sensors and they all seem to work perfectly - even in the cold weather that we have had this winter. Based on our experience, we are very happy with this product and the long battery life.

Worked great till the weather got cold and wet.
I have owned an Oregon Scientific Wireless Weather Station before. One with outside humidity, which this one doesn't have, and it functioned flawlessly for years, in all weather and temperature till the batteries corroded the inside. This unit has yet to work correctly for more than a week at a time. The remote sensor goes offline whenever the outside temperature drops below 40 degrees Fahrenheit and then has to be brought in and placed next to the base station to warm up and reconnect. My main purpose for buying this item was to replace the one that served me so well for so many years under all weather and temperature conditions. The remote unit also fails to stay connected to the base if its placed more than 15 feet away. My wife told me to return it the first week I had it when it malfunctioned for the first time, but I put it off and now it's too late. I would like the manufacturer to contact me about this problem.

Every function works, it's attractive. If you can pay attention, it's perfect. If not . . .
Because of their highly attractive price, I ordered 3 of these to replace an older Oregon Scientific set of weather forecasters. Those are 30 years old, at least. When I read the negative reviews some gave to this product, I spent some time with the product. The person who could not change the time zone did not notice it was the very first changeable item if you want to adjust anything manually. The person who could not get the channel number of the receiver to match the channel number of the remote. Simply click the arrow down (or up) quickly. THIS IS A GREAT PRICE for an aesthetically pleasing, scientifically accurate, economically appealing, long-lasting weather station worth every penny.

I've looked at a lot of thermometers and I like this one the best
I've looked at a lot of thermometers in 36 years in this mountain hollow in northern Vermont. I can't vouch for its precise accuracy at all temperature levels, but this one seems to follow an alcohol based window thermometer exactly from 40 degrees below 0 to 100 degrees above. I am amazed at how well batteries last in the outside transmitter. I had expected that to be a complaint but it absolutely is not.One bit of caution. It may be tempting to put the transmitter anywhere but from trial and error in my setting it seems that there is quite a bit of temperature difference between some locations. For example cold air pours off my standing seam metal roof on the back of my house making readings there always 4-6 degrees colder than on the gable side 30 feet away. If you are looking to match readings between instruments make sure their settings are similar.
