A brilliant little but big bag. We originally bought this bag to use as a spare for holidays, travelling collapsed in our checked luggage on the outward leg, and with any purchased items or gifts on the way back. It’s great for this purpose and robust enough to survive checked luggage. It’s also great for doing the grocery shop when on holiday). The overall quality is great, so we also have started using it as one of our main bags for weekends trips. It’s stores away really conveniently when you’re not using it - so we’re going to order some more.

Surprised that this bag holds a lot of clothing. I added some shoes in the one zippered pocket at the end of bag. Also has two small zippered pockets on the front of the bag. I like that it has two different ways to carry it....a handle with Velcro in the center or a long strap to carry over your shoulder. I bought it to bring on a house boating trip. Very convenient. Because it can fold up to a small zippered size, I will slip it in another piece of luggage on another trip, and use it for souvenirs . Great purchase!

I did a fair bit of research before buying this brand of bag as there were a selection of similar products offering much the same. The reason I opted for Bago was that all the reviewers seemed very surprised and satisfied not only with how compact the bags were folded and then their expanded capaciousness, but with the quality of materials and finish. If any of you have read reviews of a very similar product by a different brand you may have noticed that while it scores quite highly, in a fair few of the reviews the zips get slated for breaking. That was never mentioned in a Bago review and is one of the reasons I chose the bag. Having had it delivered (to my office) I opened the package and it instantly became the centre of attention from my colleagues. They couldn't believe how such a small package could become such a huge bag and at such a reasonable price. I unfolded and refolded it with no problems and once I saw how easy it was to 'repack' I decided to immediately order another for myself along with some packing cubes (also excellent). Two colleagues also asked me to get them some items too and we took advantage of the 15% discount that was in place. I am taking it on a three week road trip in the States and intend to use it as my 'main bag' and pop another inside to use for bringing back 'purchases'. The weight saving over a case is immense, which means I'll be able to take more clothes with me and avoid the need to do much laundry. Although tempted by the blue bag, I chose the black version as it will hopefully mask the dirt and scuffs that accumulate during air travel, however one colleague is very happy with her pink bag and another is delighted with her green rucksack! If you are considering buying this I recommend you watch the video reviews at Amazon and on YouTube as they give you a pretty good idea of the bag's quality. One thing I will say is that on actually holding it in my hands I was far more impressed than I thought I was going to be by the quality of the finish of the stitching and the zips and materials, which all seem excellent. UPDATE 1/09/15: As advised by the manufacturer, I wrote a review (this one) and posted the link to them and they kept their promise and sent me a voucher code for a 'free' packing cube of my choice. I had read some reviews from people saying they didn't ever get a reply, let alone a code in return from Bago customer services, so I was skeptical, especially since it is a US company and all the promotional stuff on their website is geared to Amazon US, not UK. However, I got the code this morning, clicked the link and despite the blurb in the email referring to Amazon US, it took me to the UK website and more importantly, it WORKED! I had to buy something else to qualify for free postage (Amazon's rules, not Bago), so I added a RFID blocking wallet, from their range, but I could equally have added anything from any retailer. The code works for 3 days after they send it, so bear that in mind when sending off your review link to them. I just wanted to post a confirmation of my success as I don't like companies that don't keep their promises and I am pleased to say that this one, despite comments to the contrary from other posters, came good with their promise to me. Update 7/01/16: The bag survived the trip to the States, that's four flights and six airport luggage systems. It was wedged into a very cramped car boot countless times and in and out of hotels and cabins, being packed and unpacked multiple times, all while stuffed completely full. It's also been to Iceland, stashed in coach luggage bays and on a train to Manchester and back. It still looks new and performed very well. I definitely recommend using packing cubes, otherwise the inside of the bag will quickly become a mass of jumbled clothes and possessions - there's no structure to it, so everything will just slide around. My only niggle is that I don't think the shoulder strap is much use if you are filling the bag. I'm not convinced that the connecting rings are suitable to take the strain when the bag is full. They'd probably be better if they were metal, not plastic and if they stitching where they are attached to the bag was more robust. This does mean that the bag is cumbersome to carry for any length of time if walking. Luckily this isn't generally a problem if you are moving around an airport as you use a trolley and distances in hotels are manageable, but it is worth noting if you have to walk to/from a station en route to an airport, as I found out the first time I used it! I tried it on my shoulder and gave up pretty quickly, fearing it might rip at the connection point or the ring would snap. I didn't want a busted bag before I'd even left the country. That aside, I am really happy with the weight saving over a suitcase and the robustness of the rest of the bag. I still recommend it ;-)
