## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great! Note the analog base model is not rated for 3.7V
*by on Reviewed in the United States 15 October 2026*

These work great for what they can handle (clearly marked 1.5V on side, and 9V on top), although 3.7V batteries exceed the analog meter, so I would consider ordering the digital (PRO) version if you use any 18650 rechargeable, which can handle 1.2V to 4.8V on the side and 9V on top.Just something to consider if you use any batteries between 1.5 and 9V.Otherwise the base model works great for 1.5V AA, AAA, button cells, and even 9VThis analog version provides a clear color coded desired range, where you have to know the expected voltage for the digital, so I suppose both versions have some tradeoffs depending on what you’re looking for. Both have clear displays, and are very portable, with instant readings.Neither version requires an internal battery to operate, and a dead battery is immediately obvious on both since there will be no reading to measure. They are both reasonably priced, so I recommend picking up one of each (BT-168 and BT-168 PRO) or either one will do fine depending on what you need.I like to be able to quickly test a battery before deciding to discard it or keep it in a drawer for later use, and/or knowing which rechargeable needs to be recharged.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good tester with great potential, but needs two design improvements
*by on Reviewed in the United States 11 August 2026*

This is a good battery checker, but a couple of design tweaks would make it a fantastic, five-star tester.First, it really needs a built-in cradle to hold the battery securely in place while you slide the arm down to make contact. It is very difficult to hold the battery steady—especially smaller AAAs—during a test. While there is a groove for the slider to move down, it isn't wide enough to actually stabilize the battery. To solve this, I plan to make a small, removable DIY cradle myself.Second, the positive contact terminal needs a redesign. It currently features a sharp, pointed tip, which results in a frustrating "male-to-male" contact when trying to line it up with the positive tip of a battery. It should have a concave, female feature instead so the battery tip can securely nest inside. My fix for this will be to carefully file that sharp point off the positive terminal. On the plus side, the negative terminal works perfectly fine. If you don't mind a little DIY modification to make the contacts and battery placement more stable, it is a very useful tool.Overall - Very solid with a very good price.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The little testers work great.
*by on Reviewed in the United States 27 August 2026*

I bought these because the duo pack was slightly more expensive than the single ones. If you use batteries in anything a battery tester is a useful thing to have. These battery testers work great. You just need to make sure you face the battery the right way and make a good connection. Works for regular or rechargable batteries. I have a special charger that can charge regular batteries. It really does worm unless the battery is deader that a doornail. Remote batteries are usually in a good state. They never go down to empty before needing to be changed. Those are perfect for the charger. So I use this to tell me which ones are ready to charge and which batteries are totally dead as they won't charge. I never looked for a regular battery charger here. I got mine from popular Mechanics. I think of it like this. If I only get let's say one good charge I've doubled my money. Most regular batteries will take several charges even the cheap ones.
