Great monitor at a very good price
I was in the market for a new monitor and this one came in at the right price at the right time. This monitor is certainly very well put together, it is supplied with a stand that slides into the back of it, and it stands up on my desk in the right position with no adjustments, the power button and menu buttons are on the back of the monitor, so these are out of the way but only in an awkward position if you have to change settings all the time which most people don't. The monitor has input for HDMI and DisplayPort, it also comes with an HDMI cable to plug it in straight away. I don't believe this monitor is equipped with audio as my computer didn't detect this on the HDMI port so you would need external speakers connected to the computer, not an issue for me as I already had these but the video quality is very good indeed and helps a lot when you edit videos for YouTube like I do. I can't comment how well this would work for gaming because I don't play PC based games, but for my video and graphic editing purposes it certainly does the job and the colours on the screen are vivid, outdoing my laptop screen by a long way. The monitor does come with a quick start guide but MSI have a full manual on their website which is easy enough to find. Very pleased with this and having had experience with MSI motherboards being of very good quality I expected this monitor would be just as good, I was not wrong

Superb value for money
My Dell 2405FPW finally died after 18 years and I was looking for a replacement but didn't want to spend a lot of money, as I don't care for 8K gaming, curved screens or any other gimmicks. This popped up so I searched around various sites for reviews which were surprisingly positive, the only negatives being a general lack of features, fair build quality and 6-bit + FRC as opposed to true 8-bit colour. As my desktop use is primarily browsing/reading and watching videos I decided to give it a go. Ordered Friday, delivered Monday (included in the £69 total) I opened the box, slid out the polystyrene inserts and set it up. This is very simple and requires no tools: plug the stand into the base, press into the back of the screen, clip in the cable tidy, plug in the separate power brick, insert either an HDMI or DisplayPort cable, press the rear power button and you're all set. The screen tilts but doesn't adjust for height (didn't bother me) and all display controls are situated on the right at the rear, including the power light. I only accessed these once when setting it up so can't complain about the location, plus it gives a minimalist & tidy appearance. It also lacks the USB ports and card reader of my Dell, but I found a USB hub & card reader in my spares bin, so problem solved. There is a slot at the front of the stand which is ideal for standing your phone in (sideways) which is a nice touch. No speakers, but they would no doubt be puny if included and I always use external speakers so this isn't an issue. I always turn the brightness, contrast and colour settings down to give a more natural appearance to images and was pleased to see it was capable of a 100Hz refresh rate (tested successfully), compared with the 75Hz of my old Dell. Subjectively, text appears slightly sharper than the Dell, blacks are black rather than dark grey (a strength of VA LCD panels), and video playback is smooth without tearing or artefacts. I occasionally play old DOS games and had no complaints with fast movement or response times. Before using it I ran a dead-pixel checker which displays/cycles primary colours to help locate any dead or stuck pixels, an unfortunate drawback of LCD technology. Manufacturers generally state that a couple of these outside of the main viewing area are deemed acceptable and not considered a fault. My Dell had one stuck (blue) pixel at the very top of the screen which was not an issue during use but slightly irritating all the same, so I was pleasantly surprised at the complete absence of any faulty pixels on the MSI. Time will tell with regards longevity but so far so good. I will update this review in a few months. 12/06/2024 - update Nothing untoward to report, still working fine.

Perfect for the price and easy to set up.
It's a great monitor, and it was really easy to put together the stand. However, you're going to put a box or something under it as its a very short stand. The colors really pop, great for watching movies and editing videos on.

A Really Nice Larger Monitor for Non-Specialist Use
Great monitor for general use, easy to set up. I bought this for an elderly friend whose Dell 17" monitor had failed after 23 years. This gives him the ability to clearly view two pages when using the wordprocessor. Being only FHD and of average refresh rate, it wouldn't be much good for graphic design or gaming. However it is brilliant and cheap for general use. Recommended.

Great 23.8’’ Monitor for Everyday Use
Love it love it, so good and very good quality the display is sharp, colors look vibrant, and the size is perfect for both work and entertainment. Setup was simple, and the build quality feels solid. Overall, a great monitor for the price—highly recommend!

Ideal 2nd & 3rd monitor. Does everything you need to for the price.
This is the second one of these I've bought so far. I originally got one for my 2nd monitor and now I've decided to add a third. Does everything I need it to, so I didn't see any reason to buy a different brand. Nice small bezel on the top which makes it perfect for a 3 monitor set up. As far as cheap monitors go, this does everything you need it to. Surprisingly decent quality too! Monitor is both verticals in image.

Returned. Audio not working.
Advertised and sold as having audio. It didn't. Whether audio works seems to be the luck of the draw. Stand was difficult to put together and instructions were unhelpful. Box is too small for contents. It was such a tight fit it took two of us to get packaging and contents out of box; one pushing, one pulling. It took 40 minutes to find a way to repackage it securely for return.

Good value
A good value all round monitor, good for most gaming needs and school/business work. Easy to set up, power cable included but you will need HDMI lead.
