I got this for a beach trip and on the second day of use, the elastic rope in two of the poles snapped. This made it difficult to keep all the sections of those poles together, and they fell apart a few times while trying to support the tent. I saw other brands of these type of tents up and down the beach, and no other tents were dealing with this issue.

I did quite a bit of research prior to buying this one. There are quite a few options out there with different type and numbers of poles and sandbags, etc. I think the ones with 8 bags would probably be a little better for very windy beaches, but I took the chance with this one because I liked the design of the poles and I think the sandbags attached to actual rope is more durable. and the poles are better secured with the added guide lines. Also I was glad this came with a sand scoop and a nice sized bag that had a little extra room so you don't need to agonize over how to refold it so it will fit into the bag.It did OK in the wind over a week in Maine. when the wind shifts directions there is still a chance it will collapse so you need to be able to readjust the bags if needed. I was hoping it would be sturdy enough to add a wind block on the side because Maine can be very chilly and windy. It worked for a short time but when the wind picked up it started putting too much pressure on the structure so it would not hold up to a really windy day.I really like this for very HOT beach days where the wind is a relief but if you're like me and tend to be a little chilly on a windy beach, you're probably not going to have a ton of use for this. unless you are OK with being cold.I think I'll personally reserve this one for those really hot days and find an actual tent that can serve as a wind block better.

It worked well, but on a crowded beach, it might be difficult to set up. To set and bury the sand anchors took up a 15'+ square. Space that might not be available on a crowded beach unless you get there early. Also, if you needed to take it down and pack it up fast in the event of an incoming storm, a regular umbrella worked better. We will be using it again. It was light weight and much easier to transport than an umbrella, and it was sturdy. Next time we'd couple the 7x7 with a regular umbrella between the supports or add another 7x7 to expand the coverage for 3 people, or 2 that wanted to lay on blankets. If you don't mind the heavier carrying weight, I'd say go for the larger version.

Love this. Easy to carry and perfect for a day at the beach

I got this for a solo beach trip and it was absolutely perfect! I forgot to time the setup, but it was worth whatever time it took me to do. I read the instructions at home and implementation was seemlesss. Follow the instructions.The location of the shade changed throughout the day, but was always there and the last few hours was full shade. Worth the investment. Very sturdy.I sat my chair in the sun so I could warm up from the shade as needed 🤯😃
