My GP recommended I take Vitamin C given the frequency of my infections - and the latest thinking does seem to be that taking vitamin C regularly can reduce the severity and duration of colds, though not prevent them. So I have decided to give it a try this winter and so far, fingers crossed, have avoided anything more than a minor cold.These are one-a-day, taste-free capsules which go down quickly – you can get other Vitamin C tablets which you chew like sweets and which taste very pleasant, but some people find chewing difficult. Because you don’t chew them, they don’t have any sweeteners. They are also vegan.These are higher dose than other vitamin C tablets I have reviewed - 1000mg in each tablet compared to the usual high dose tablets which are 500mg. This may be why they are more expensive – 11p a tablet compared to others I have reviewed at 5-6p a tablet for 500mg doses. Higher dosage is not necessarily good – 1000mg is within recognised safe limits but you might want to read up if you are at risk of kidney stones or are prone to digestive disturbance.

The bottle has 120 tablets each with 1000mg of ascorbic acid a.k.a. Vitamin C. Note that as it is in this state it is not "buffered", i.e. it's not provided as a mineral ascorbate such as sodium or potassium ascorbate. The acidity of non-buffered tablets may upset some people's stomachs, though I personally have not suffered any problem as yet with this product.The tablets also include citrus bioflavanoids and rose hip extract which are said to increase availability of the vitamin in the body.Vegan friendly, recyclable bottle, made in the UK. They seem a little pricier than other brands, but they don't contain the various "bulking agents" that you get in many others.

I always find vitamin C is a necessity when I have a cold or are feeling ill.These tablets are a little on the large side but easy enough to swallow with a little water, they do also have that sour vitamin c taste so might be nicer taken with squash or juice.I do tend to spilt my tablets up and take one in the morning and one in the evening, your body can only absorb the amount it needs so a high strength can last a lot longer this way!Overall not a bad price for the amount you get (120 tablets could last you 4-8 months) and i'm glad these are vegan friendly too, a good plus!

These are good quality Vitamin C tablets with added rose hips and citrus bioflavinoids. They give a good dose of 1000mg of Vitamin C, the other ingredients are perfectly acceptable and they are made in the UK to GMP standards, so you can be confident that they contain what they say. They are good value for a 4-month supply.There’s not a lot more to say; if you want a reliable Vitamin C supplement, these will do fine.

This is a large semi-transparent brown plastic pot half filled with vitamin c tablets. The tablets are on the larger side, so may be difficult to swallow. They don't smell but do have a slightly orangey taste. The tablets contain 1000 mg of vitamin c, so it's quite a high dosage, and the suggestion is to take 1 a day.
