Review: Quality, easy to use, amazing results - Unbelievably easy to get a factory sharp edge. Heck, it might be better than the factory edge as you can chose your angle. I have had a Lansky kit for 20 years. It is adequate for the price but this sharpener exceeds it in every way. Of course it’s way more expensive but here are the pros of this kit: solid, well built. The thing has heft and that is a good thing. Mostly metal construction which is not going to wear out. Precision angle to blade home placement, blade rotates so you can do both shifts without dismantling anything. Pretty foolproof execution. I love it. I put a crazy sharp edge on an old kitchen aid cheap butcher knife that I use for rougher applications and that thing can shave my arm hair off now. I have a lot of high end pocket knives and a few knife kitchen knives. I have only had this for 24 hours but have already sharpened 5 knives. Cons: you really need a case, the box that it comes with is adequate for awhile but is not a permanent storage solution.
Review: Fantastic system, though pretty expensive. - This is an outstanding knife sharpening system. At first, I was skeptical. Would live up to the price? I had previously purchased an earlier model from this brand and was disappointed with the results. It simply didn’t perform the way I expected, especially considering the cost. This system, however, is a completely different story. It’s easily the biggest product upgrade I’ve ever seen from a brand. They clearly addressed the flaws of the previous model, because that one had quite a few, and refined everything. The result is a system that actually delivers. I can now sharpen both chef’s knives and pocket knives to a near perfect edge, and I can do it faster and more consistently than ever before. The small design details really stand out, everything feels intentional, ergonomic, and easy to use. If you’re wondering whether it’s worth the investment, here’s the honest answer you can achieve a great edge with a traditional whetstone if you have the skill and patience. There are excellent Japanese stones out there at various price points. But systems in the $50 range, even decent ones, just don’t compare in terms of precision, consistency, and ease of use. This system removes a lot of the guesswork. From a practical standpoint, it will also save you time and money over the long run. Instead of sending knives out for sharpening, you can maintain them yourself. Personally, I do a light honing about once a month and a full sharpening every three months, with a heavier sharpening about once a year if needed. I keep everything at a consistent 25° angle just to simplify the process. For the first time ever, I’ve been able to sharpen a knife to the point where it can shave hair off my arm. That level of sharpness comes down to precision, especially maintaining a consistent angle, and this system makes that achievable. The biggest lesson I’ve learned over eight years of sharpening is this angle consistency is everything, and creating then fully removing a burr at every stage is critical. If you don’t remove the burr, the edge will fold over quickly and perform poorly, almost like the knife was never sharpened at all. This system makes that process much easier, especially during the finishing stages. As for downsides, the price is definitely high. It’s an investment. But it’s also a durable system that should last a long time, especially since diamond and steel plates tend to hold up for years. I do hope replacement parts remain available, because the design itself is excellent and worth maintaining long term. You don’t need a system like this to get a sharp knife. But realistically, without it, I probably never would have reached the level of sharpness I can achieve now. Having truly sharp knives at home makes a huge difference, and this system made that possible for me. Also, the last time I had a professional knife sharpener guy come sharpen my knives he messed up about most of my knives… I think he had some type of disability or maybe he had some blindness, but he legitimately screwed up some very expensive knives of mine. If you want something done right you need to do it yourself sometimes and definitely don’t go cheap if you hire someone else to sharpen your expensive knives. Luckily I didn’t have him sharpen all of my knives, but some of these knives aren’t sold anymore. They’re not replaceable. I can’t find them online anywhere so it was quite the loss. But I learned my lesson. If you’re just starting out sharpening knives avoid practicing on expensive knives go out and buy a $50 Mercer 8 inch chef knife and practice on that. There are a lot of really good handmade Japanese sushi knives that you can find online that are super cool and unique for $250-$500. It comes with a story a photo of the knife maker they will have 4 to 5 generations of knife making in their family. I recommend going and finding a smaller website or a small business that specifically specializes in sourcing high-end Japanese chef knives I think those are the best you can get overall there’s nobody that compares and passion and excellence like a Japanese chef knife. I typically don’t recommend buying chef knives that are in between that price point of $60 and $250. However QSP does have excellent chef knives on their website. They typically make pocket knives, but they also have a small knife shop that does handmade chef knives, and they are absolutely incredible. I highly recommend them. I’m not a high fan of Shun, there are so many other fantastic options. They all tend to be brittle. Anyways: If you’re serious about sharpening, or just appreciate a properly sharp knife, I highly recommend this Work Sharp professional Knife Sharpening system!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Is The Pro Sharpener You Want.
*by D***R on February 10, 2024*

I'm a big EDC guy, especially when it comes to collecting premium fixed blade and folding pocket knives. But I'm not an expert knife sharpener. Not even close. I've never sharpened using anything other than an Orange Ninja three stage pull through sharpener. The WorkSharp Professional Precision Adjust kept getting high praise from all the knife guys I regularly watch on Youtube, and I really wanted to learn how to sharpen knives on a system capable of the sharpest results possible if used correctly. So I made the investment and picked one up. My very first work EDC was a Ruko 3.5" lockback. I recently found it again after losing track of it over 20 years ago. It didn't take long to get it looking and working like new, but the blade edge was so dull and badly folded over it wouldn't cut a worm. It was the perfect candidate for a noob's first sharpening attempt. After setting the sharpener up I didn't use it right away. I went full nerd mode and watched several hours of different tutorial videos on Youtube all week before I put my Ruko in the vice clamp and got started. I took my time and patiently worked my way through all 7 magnetic abrasive, honing and strop panels. As a lifelong musician, using the Worksharp felt a lot like playing an instrument. And the results are absolutely freaking astonishing. I honestly can't get over it. This $15 Ruko knife with a 440 stainless blade is now insanely scary ultra sharp. It clutches fingerprints as if it were sticky. Cuts paper into fine ribbons and effortlessly shaves the hair right off my arm. And the blade edge itself has this unreal shimmering mirrored finish that really pops and captures light. I've also sharpened two more, a Civivi Baklash and a 6" Buck 119 fixed blade hunting knife. Exact same icky sticky sharpness and mirrored edge finish. When the guys at work saw for themselves how insane sharp I got my knives, they brought in 4 more of their own for me to sharpen. This is the pro results sharpener you want. And definitely save the durable boxes and packaging trays it comes with, because they hold everything perfectly and makes a great case. Everything you need is included, and everything is built rock solid. The included digital angle reader is very precise and simple to use. WorkSharp put a lot of thought into this system and it shows. It's so easy to get better than factory edge results. You just have to be patient, don't rush it and take your time. The sharpening process is very enjoyable on this system, and the results are so rewarding. I also highly suggest you consider a magnifying glass lamp too. Being able to see the blade edge up close while working on it really improves results. The one pictured in my photo is made by Krstlv, comes with both a solid base and side of table vice clamp, multiple light brightness modes and light color modes. It's excellent for this purpose and is available on Amazon for under $40. Can't wait to sharpen my next knife! The Worksharp Professional Precision Adjust is an awesome product that's easy to use, and it consistently delivers X level sharpness. This WorkSharp gets my highest possible recommendation. I hope this review was helpful.
