The smell is not to pleasant unless you like burn coffee, lol. But other than that so far it’s given my hair a soft smooth texture and more dryness. For the most part it’s a great product.

Honestly this is one of the best products I have ever used for my hair. I have been able to increase volume and thickness of my hair. The product is versatile and can be used in conjunction with other products as well. The application is very easy and I usually use any excess product on my skin for the added benefits. If you have fine hair your hair will get oily if you don't wash out so I just apply at night and wash out the next morning. Overall my hair is so much healthier and I am really happy I found this. Also I apply this 2-3 times per week overnight and wash in the AM. It will stain your pillow case so sleep with a bonnet or something with breathable material.

Both my daughter & I are adjusted to the smell and love the results so we can easily prioritize our results over the less than fragrant odor. But the results!!! My daughter lost 40% of her hair a yr ago to severe scalp ezcema (+ a trip to St Martin’s beautiful yet salty water). We used other products with marginal success. I started using this product 2 months ago & I already see results. We use it twice weekly as a spot treatment along the crown & nape of her head, and deep condition with it twice monthly. Her locs are growing and more importantly, her edges and nape are recovering tremendously. We’re going to keep at it!! We like the texture (moist but not sticky), it leaves her locs moisturized but not weighed down. Her hair is drinking it up. Will repost after 2 more months.

It’s only been a couple of weeks. I think I see some fuzz on my temple that I’ve been applying it to. I will write again later. Oh and yes it does I have a strong coffee scent. I just spray a hair misting leave in conditioner on top of it ( something you like to smell ) and it takes the smell way down. Hope than helps

I thought I applied the review a while ago, but see that it wasn't mentioned. Please read below: This product took my hair out when I rinsed it out aost to the root and it straightened a portion of it. I smelled perm and wondered where that smell came from when I smelled my hair that came out it was my hair that smelled like perm. I do not nor have I ever had a perm in my hair. The part that I put it on some of it came out the other part of it is bone straight amd it will not curl back up to it's natural state. My hair is all natural. Thankfully I did not put this horrible product all over my hair. The ingredients list only one ingredient which is the product name it does not list that it has coffee in it and it does not list that it has perm and chemicals in it however when you open the bottle it does smell like coffee which I thought was an ingredient. I called my stylist crying and she had to fix the problem and she saw for herself where my hair came out and where the other part of it was straight and not curly when my hair is naturally curly. If you want to use this product it's best to go to a store and not get it off of Amazon from this company like I did. Notice the bad reviews are more recent than the 5 star reviews and they placed our bad reviews down at the bottom mixed in with the other. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!! I am still waiting on my refund!!!!

The oil is very good. Makes my hair soft and I can see a difference in the texture of my hair. However the jar is much smaller than I expected for the price. Good product though. Really good

I will try almost anything once. With all of the hype, I decided to give this batana oil a try. It definitely smells like burned coffee. Since I have tried another product similar to this, I wasn't too thrown off by it. It can be a bit much though. So I would not recommend putting it on your hair before bed. Since my hair tends to grow pretty fast and thick, I cannot say this had any major effect. For the money, it's worth a try. My daughter has had some success with it. She's not a fan of the smell either.

This is definitely authentic unrefined batana oil! As a small businesswoman in the industry I can attest to this! A little goes a long way & this size will provide a great bang for your buck when used properly. For the reviewers that said it made their hair fall out, this oil should be mixed sparingly with water or leave in conditioner. If using as a deep conditioner, use sparingly mixed with your conditioner. Do not use this on the hair alone, as its thick consistency will become sticky on your hair & naturally your will fall out! This formulation is the real deal and will grow your hair! I use it in my hair growth oil and once monthly deep conditioner!
