Gamewright - Forbidden Jungle - Cooperative Board Game

Bought this to play with family over the holidays. Lots of fun learning it and playing. It took us an hour to learn and play through the first time and we're all 18+. The game incorporates strategy and luck to win against the aliens and leave the jungle. -Each player has a role that allows them to do something special (example: not lose health when stung by an adult alien) -Each person's turn allows 4 actions including moving to a new part of the jungle, revealing a part of the jungle, using equipment cards you get when landing on specific tiles, moving tiles so the active crystals are aligned near a portal that allows you to leave the jungle, and removing aliens from the tile you're on. -After you take actions, the jungle fights back through threat cards. The number of threat cards you all have to draw each turn starts to increase over time, if you draw the 'increase threat level' card often enough. Aliens may also mature from eggs to hatchlings to adults or show up in unexpected places and derail your plans. Meanwhile, parts of the jungle may be over sinkholes that cause an entire tile to sink and be out of play for the rest of the game. -If you've played Forbidden Island, this is similar but a lot more challenging because you have to move tiles around so that the active crystal tiles surround the portal you use to escape and you have the added difficulty of maturing aliens that can eventually drain your health -If you've played Pandemic but aren't ready to play that game yet after COVID, For idden Jungle is VERY similar with a different theme. Game tiles are good quality and great artwork, alien + people are solid plastic, so it's a game we can play for years to come. As you play this game and get better at your strategy, you can increase the starting threat level so it's a harder game. Great job with this Gamewright!

The "Forbidden" games have always been some of my husband's favorites. Somehow I'd missed that this one had come out so I ordered one for his bday. We enjoyed it quite a bit and look forward to playing with friends. He found this one to be as good the original.... Forbidden Island. It's challenging without being overly complex, and has some familiar mechanics but also enough new and interesting ones that it doesn't feel like a copy of the others. Its kinda like Forbidden Island and a slide puzzle had a baby. And then that baby grew up and spawned more and more babies until you have an infestation of fun.

We’ve played a few games in the Forbidden series, and this one quickly became a favorite. It’s cooperative, so everyone is working together, which makes it great for family game nights or playing with friends. The theme is fun, and the gameplay feels challenging without being overwhelming once you get the hang of it. It does take a round or two to fully understand everything, but after that it flows really well and stays exciting. We like that it feels different enough from Forbidden Island and Desert while still having that familiar feel. Lots of replay value and definitely keeps everyone engaged. Would absolutely recommend if you enjoy cooperative board games.

Our household loves collaborative games. After playing a lot of Forbidden Island, Forbidden Jungle delivered a fun twist. The added layers brought novelty while still keeping things simple. Great game!

It's a fun cooperative game the it family loves but I don't like the theme if the game nearly as much as forbidden island and forbidden desert. That said, the replayability might be best with this game as these are different board setups that make each game play fun and unique. Our kids love it and have played it on their own (even our 7 year old), and it's fun for family have night as long as you only have 5 people or less who want to play.

My 10 year old had been eyeing all the forbidden series of games after playing Forbidden Desert with his friend. I "researched" (ie- read lots of reviews) to see which one to buy him for his birthday-- perk for me, it's a cooperative game, which is helpful to keep the level of noise down in my home (versus a heated competitive game!). I was unsure which to get; Sky seems to be unavailable. Island is the first, and although good, more "basic". He liked Desert, but also likes new games, so I opted for Jungle despite the poor reviews (winnability, piece quality, etc). I'm glad I did. He has LOVED it. He won the first time (luck of the draw??), but has won several times since, so it's definitely possible, but not easy as he has also lost. The pieces have never fallen (so maybe they updated them?). It's been fun playing with him, and him strategizing with me based off of what card we drew to defeat the alien horde. :)

Great game! Love this whole series and this is another great one! So fun to play with friends and family and great that you get to work together and are playing against the game itself. A bit complicated but great once you start playing!

This game was played by ages 8-70 and enjoyed by all. It is weighty enough not to be boring for those of us who enjoy highly complex games but simple enough for children and entry level players to enjoy. You all share in a common mission, and given your skills will do different things to achieve that mission and defeat the game itself - hopefully! The colors of the game alone are beautiful to look at, and the strategy will have you all working together. 5/5

We love these games and this one was very decently priced compared to in store options.

Muy bueno aunque algo difícil de ganar

This has become a favorite game in our family. We started our little board game nights with Forbidden Island, which is a fantastic gateway game. Now we have progressed onto Forbidden Jungle with has kept all of our favorite aspects of co-operative play and introduced some new elements into the mix. Matt Leacock really knows how to create a good co-operative game which keeps you engaged with a dramatic countdown mechanism. Buy it, you won't regret it.

No issues with packaging or delivery. Very enjoyable game, 10/10 would recommend.
