WARNING,Not your mommy’s hot cocoa!
I’m a barista and a chocolate connoisseur- this chocolate is NEXT LEVEL. Rich dark delicious thick did I mention dark? This ain’t no Swiss miss just add hot water. This is real gourmet cocoa this is what the royalty of the Olmecs drank. When the ancient Olmecs drank chocolate, it was very thick due to the natural methods of grinding the cacao beans and virtually no amount of processing like we have today, so I very much appreciate the authenticity. No ones going to blame you if you can’t handle it, it might just be too rich for those who are used to mom’s Swiss miss. I did agree with other reviews it doesn’t dissolve, but I fixed that by mixing a bit of boiling water, once it became a chocolate syrup I added steamed milk and topped with Hammonds gourmet marshmallows, and sprinkled some cinnamon for that real Mexican cocoa experience!

Rich and Delicious and Full of Lumps
I love a good cup of hot chocolate, but try to limit my sugar intake. I liked that this mix was lower in sugar, but without fake sweeteners (which all taste weird to me). Overall, it's very delicious--rich and dark and chocolatey, just as you want in a cocoa that's called "double dark." The only problem is, as many have noted, it does not mix well. I've tried a couple of methods, but had no success. I first made the cocoa in the prescribed ratio (I wanted less than a cup, so did 2/3 of a cup of milk with 2 tablespoons), putting the powder into the milk and stirring it up. It was very rich, and when I got to the bottom of the cup there was a lot of residue at the bottom. However, unlike a lot of cocoas, the "residue" here wasn't grit, but lumps of actual melted chocolate which had fallen to the bottom. Delicious, but annoying. The next time I made it, I thought I'd put less of the powder in, so 2/3 of a cup of liquid and 1 tablespoon, hoping to give the mix a better chance of integrating. I began by mixing up a tiny bit of very-hot milk with the powder until it looked very dissolved and incorporated, and then I poured in the rest of the milk and stirred it around. There was still a lot of chocolate at the bottom. So. It's absolutely yummy, and a little even goes a long way, but when you get to the end you'll want to have a spoon handy.

Yuk !
Gritty. Awful taste. I love the Laird Hot Chocolate with mushrooms but this is nothing like that. Not returnable so make sure you only buy one and try it out.

Not tasty
I didn't like the flavor. My son didn't like the flavor. I threw it out. Wasted my money. Maybe it was my expectations

Drinking hot chocolate never was this good without all the sugar of store bought
Holiday season and cold weather means plenty of sweets and carbs, so this offsets high sugar content with satisfying taste from a hot beverage. I love dark chocolate with low sugar content. Bought Raaka 85% dark chocolate bars, so this was a delightful discovery.

Liquid Coconut, with a side of coconut
First off, let me say that this IS a quality product. Care seems to have been taken every step of the way, and the mouthfeel is fantastic. For dietary restrictions, this can be a good choice. However, for those of us that are lucky enough to not have those, the TASTE is a large stumbling block. Let's see, how can I describe the taste... If I were to ask you to melt coconut oil, mix it with coconut milk and drink it, would you be okay with the taste? If so, you might enjoy this. I'm not sure where all the cocoa in the ingredients has disappeared to, or even the earthiness of the mushrooms. Now, some people have no choice, and for them, I can recommend Raaka. It made a wonderful texture and mouthfeel reminiscent of a hot chocolate, is much less unhealthy, and yet without the bitterness of a hot cocoa. But I come from the position of trying to find a healthier hot chocolate and this did not fit for me or any of my family. Instant rejection by all members. I tried to save it by dumping in straight cocoa powder, a hot chocolate mix, milk, and even a chocolate protein powder. Finally, after all that, and undoing any health savings by probably tripling the amount of sugar in a normal cup of hot chocolate, I was finally able to sip it and not feel like I was going to retch. And I like coconut oil!
