When I saw these I knew this was an improvement. Cubes that open their entire top surface are far more functional than other designs. I also find the cube that one can see into without opening are more efficient on a trip than those that are opaque. These, although the entire top isn't all mesh it is enough to remind me what is in that particular cube. They seem very durable and well made and I expect to get a lot of great use out of them. The fact that they can compress won't lighten the weight of your suitcase but it will require less room which is a bonus for certain trips (like to cold places allowing you to condense that sweater or jacket until you need it). I have found that a compressed garment springs back to itself in seconds whether it is cashmere or fleece without ever harming the garment. If you've ever used the plastic compression bags that you have to roll up you will love these. These are lighter weight and not stiff like the plastic compression bags and a whole lot easier to use: just use the double zipper and voila!
