Neither as advertised nor like the original
It is not made of steel as advertised and it is nothing like in the picture. It does not look at all like the original piece as well and it seems to be a cheap generic spare instead.

Great replacement
Very happy with this, I can use my Alessi coffee pot again!

The packaging cannot protect the item during transit.
The filter became slightly oval due to compression during transport. The packaging provides no protection. The problem with this is that the fit to the coffee machine is not good and steam escape from the side only partially pushing the water through the ground coffee. I am returning the item for refund. If I re-order another item it is likely to arrive in the same state.

I bought a small Alessi stove top mocha pot and after a few uses the funnel filter fell apart. Alessi wouldn’t send me a new one so I bought this one, which is very well made and much sturdier than the junk Alessi is now using. In the past Alessi had great craftsmanship, not sure anymore.
