ACANA Chewy Strips Limited Ingredient Dog Treats Chicken Recipe with Immune System Support 4oz Bag

Our four-dog household goes through a LOT of treats, and with pups age 1 through 14, we have a variety of health needs to meet. Acana is already a brand we trust, so we were eager to try their new Hip & Joint Support Chewy Tenders. First things first, all three pups who got a taste loved them: no surprise there! I liked that the ingredients list is all real things I recognize and are good for my pups, plus the form factor made for a tidy treat without much of any mess (always a plus). I also appreciated that they weren't stinky, like some jerky-style treats we've bought in the past. My dogs gobbled them right down happily. They were soft enough that even my old boy with sensitive teeth had no problem chewing through them. While I have no way of knowing what impact these will have on their joints, I feel confident that it's only good stuff inside. We have three dogs with major joint needs: two seniors (one of whom has a luxating patella), & a pup with a mystery limp that could be early elbow dysplasia. The bone broth and Omega-3s in these chews are both things our vet told us to look out for to help our pets. I only wish these had lower fat content for my old girl with dietary restrictions who would really benefit from these treats for her aging joints, and that the chews lasted a bit longer for my chewing-obsessed younger pups, but overall we are very happy to have found this healthy new treat! They're an occasional splurge I'll look for when they are on sale.

I have 2 Boston terriers and they love them. The pieces are a bit long so I broke it into 4 pieces and give my dogs 1 of those pieces a day. They are nice and soft so not to hard for my dogs to chew and the best part is they didn't give my dogs gas. A lot of dog foods or treats give my dogs gas but these didn't. I did think there would be more in the package for the price.

Acana chicken treats are a healthy choice to give your dog when training or just for an occasional treat. The treats are made with real chicken and not filled with a bunch of ingredients that your dog doesn't need. The treats come in strips with the texture of jerky. I tend to break them into smaller pieces to stretch out how much I give my dog because she loves them so much that she gobbles them up pretty quickly. The pouch has a zipper closure to help keep them fresh.

We were excited to try a new soft chewy treat as my hound Karma is 16 years old and missing a few teeth. Opened the package immediately. Pulled out several to see how the pack members liked them. They were all HARD and dry. I immediately checked the expiration date (June 2024). The package had a freshness/ moisture pack inside but it must have failed. I did not find any damage to the treat bag. Even though the treats were dry and hard, all the dogs loved them. The old girl took a few extra minutes to finish hers and came back looking for more. I bet they would like chewy treats Too.

My dog loves these treats! I have a 3 year old spaniel mix who isn't extremely picky about food, but she absolutely goes bonkers for these. I like that they are more of a jerky texture because she makes much less of a mess than the hard biscuit treats. I wish there were more in the bag, but for a smaller dog the pieces are huge so you can make them last by breaking them up. Make sure you close the bag completely - they will dry up if you don't. Upon receipt of ACANA Chewy Tender Beef treats I was worried my small dog would not be able to enjoy it. But the treat is very light and easy to chew, or pull apart in my case. Having a previous dog with hip and joint problems, I am mindful to avoid injury and look for appropriate supplements. The ACANA treats fit this need perfectly and because it was a treat, it was easy to give to my dog. This biggest drawback was the price. These treats are 2-3x more than I typically set aside for dog treats. Given today’s economy, I cannot justify spending this much at this time.

Dear Seller, I was very excited to have my two shihtzus try this treat from one of the most reputable makers of high-quality products for dogs. True enough, my girls liked how it tasted but my issue is that the treats were not at all SOFT and CHEWY as described in the package. They were HARD and DRY which made me wonder if I was sent an old, about-to-expire bag. I expect excellence from ACANA. I hope I will not be disappointed again when I get next month’s delivery.
