## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ You sometimes have to try several options!
*by J***D on 12 March 2019*

Yes, yes, yes! It's easy to say Nikon knows best. But to those that DON'T have a Nikon camera on which to use this item, you have to improvise! So, first of all it is unlikely that any standard NON-NIKON lens will be able to do the job - indeed, in order to be able to use the Nikon lens you will also need to use extension tubes! So that is your starting point; get a set of extension tubes. I tried to use every lens at my disposal, with and without the tubes and finally, after numerous combinations, I found that using my 70-200 IS/USM Canon lens on my Eos 5D Mk ii, using ALL of my extension tubes (68mm) and focusing with both the zoom ring AND the focus ring, I finally got an image! It wasn't quite full frame (13MPx) but I'm sure that with a little experimentation, some trial and error, I will be able to get closer to full frame (21MPx). It's worth noting that I also bought a 'Kaiser Film Strip Holder' which only exposes an area of about 22.5x34mm, so I've immediately lost about 11.5% of the frame. Some dextrous (and careful) work with a very fine file should rectify that problem. If I can get it to about 18 or 19 MPx I will be happy. As an aside, I have previously scanned over 500 negatives using an Epson Perfection 4870 Photo with absolutely superb results, at a resolution of 4800dpi. If you'd care to work that out it's about 30.5MPx. The problem is that it takes SO long! Three minutes a negative and you cannot leave it to work on auto (unless you accept an image that's about 22.5x34mm - which I do not!). It is mind bogglingly tedious. So being able to snap the copies using this device, even though you lose a little detail, is a compromise I can accept!
