Originally I was not too happy with the workmanship of the item as there was a misalignment of the shelf. I addition a hole was not drilled properly in order to accept the lock pin therefore the shelf would not lock in the upright position. I proceeded to start a return on the item and was frustrated by the fact that I could not find a way to return the item with paid shipping. I figured that I would just call Amazon the next day to take care off the issue and finish processing the return with a prepaid shipping label.The next morning I received a call from from the seller informing me that that received notice that I had trouble with the product I received. I explained the issue and informed them that I would need to return the product. The seller informed me that they had every intention of making things right. I told them all that I need to make it right is to refund the purchase and supply shipping information (prepaid) so that I can return the item. She explained to me that since they they are a small company they would greatly appreciate if I would accept a refund, a replacement item with upgraded parts, and keep the original defective item; in return for a review of my experience. I again explained that my only expectation is a refund, however if they wished to go above and beyond; I would happily provide a review. She proceeded to process shipment for the new item which arrived a couple days later. I just finished assembling the new unit and everything looks great. I assembled it without issue and have installed it on my vehicle. There are no defects and the unit looks like it will suit my needs. I am happy with the product, however I am even more impressed by the sellers desire to the go above and beyond for their customer.

Sigh... I don't understand why other companies don't make carriers this size. I'm assuming it's because one this wide can easily block both tail lights. I was moving 350 miles away and needed extra cargo space, so I ordered this carrier. It was scheduled to arrive just in time for my move. When it finally arrived, I found it defective. The carrier was sloped up from the back, making it uneven with my tow receiver, and the left and right sides were butterflied. No wonder the listing has a sign stating "This item has frequent returns."I was leaving the next day and went into panic mode. I called customer service and spoke to Ingrid, who was really helpful. I explained my situation, sent pictures, and provided the measurements she needed. She assured me the replacement part would be overnighted to me. The next day, I waited by the door, and when the part arrived, it was still defective. I called Mockins again, sent more pictures to ensure I was doing everything correctly, and they confirmed I was.Looking for options, Ingrid passed the phone to her supervisor, Bianca. This lady was as mean as it gets. I even cried on the phone, and she didn't offer a single apology. I was supposed to leave that day and had nowhere to stay. She told me it was too late to overnight another product. My only option was a simple refund. Bianca should not be a supervisor there; her customer service reflects in the quality of their products. She went into straight defensive mode. Said everything she had to say and when I spoke she told me she wasn't having it. Even with all the negative reviews, they haven't upgraded their hardware to grade 8. With the hardware given, it definitely does not hold anywhere near 500lbs. I see a lawsuit coming. If you buy this, make sure to upgrade the hardware. Imagine driving on the freeway and it falling apart with your cargo. You better have some good insurance.I had to check into a motel with my belongings in my car and ended up renting a U-Haul trailer. The worker there helped me throw the carrier away. I write many reviews and rarely write bad ones, but I had to for this company. Good luck, consumers.

Perfect for hauling my son’s mini bike around! Im glad we got the bigger rack, there’s plenty of room for his tools and essentials. It’s a perfect fit for all of our camping stuff including the heavy cooler as well! It’s built to last, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!
