These smell amazing and the smell is very long lasting and lingers. The more smell you want, the more you use, but even for a strong and long lasting smell it really does not take a lot at all. Maybe a cap and a half for a very large heavily soiled load. I also like to sprinkle just a few into the fabric softener compartment as well and turn on the fabric softener cycle on my washer. Absolutely heavenly. A huge reason why I love this brand of scent beads is because they do not stain or discolor the laundry. I have had many shirts for myself and my kids completely ruined by other brands of scent beads and crystals especially purex brand and the arm and hammer, as well as a few others. I’ve really tried them all. But they leave these slightly dark, discolored splotches on our clothes and once they are there, they do not come out. Took me a very long time to figure out what was causing it. Thought my brand new washer was leaking some kind of oily residue on our clothing. But nope. Finally figured out it was all the crappy cheap brands of scent beads. Ended up moving thru several other brands before landing on these and haven’t had a single issue since.
