Was initially put off by the other reviews, so in preparation ordered the correct cable (RJ11 to BT) here, but didn't need to as they supplied a BT to RJ11 adapter. That said, the adapter was quite unwieldy and would not have fit (behind my cabinet). Yes, they are supplied with EU 2 pin plugs (with quite specific adapters at the device end) so unlikely to be able to find a UK version. The actual EU to UK power adapters themselves are of reasonable quality but do add some bulk (but still fits in a power strip ok). The phone turned on and I was immediately prompted to select a language (and it defaulted to English & UK - maybe auto detected due to connection to home LAN and therefore internet). However, the answer phone had to be manually changed from German to English (which I found a little odd). Too soon to make any judgement, but works well as far as I can see. Update: Even though I had set the language and country I noted that the time zone kept automatically changing to +1 with seemingly no way to change it. After reading the manual, worked out how to log into the Web GUI and change it under 'Management - Date & Time'.

To be honest I have not tried installing this phone yet. It is advertised on Amazon UK and obvious it is being sent from Germany. Before I purchased I contacted the supplier to ask for confirmation that as a UK sold item it would come with UK 3 pin plugs. I got the following response; "Dear customer, yes - all our devices come with a 3 prong plug. If the cable is attached to the machine we adapt a BSI proven adaptor. For the case its a power cable which comes separate we exchange it into a UK one. kind regards" This is untrue. The item was delivered with EU 2 pin plugs on the leads for both the base unit and phone. However, also included were two EU to UK 3 pint adaptors. So, technically it will work if I decide to keep it. My concern is the size and ugly nature of the adaptors. The issue is that I know I will need to fund return postage and if I am lucky will receive a refund at some point. But for not much more than the cost of postage I can get a UK replacement leads (that I expected to be supplied) for at least the phone, so yet to decide. Luckily you can download an english version of the German text user guide that was supplied. Either way, Amazon allowing items such as this without explicit definition of what will be delivered is sadly making it more like e-bay where we know anything from a non-UK supplier is 'buyer beware' and has an element of risk as to what actually arrives. I will update the review if I decided to keep the item. Update: I needed to plug the base unit into the phone port on my BT fibre broadband box. Of course, the unit was not supplied with a lead that fitted the UK telephone port, I assume German fittings were supplied. I tried an old UK lead but that did not work. So for £3.99 I purchased one from another vendor on Amazon that said it was specifically for use with Gigaset; at last the phone now does actually work. However, I need to use more to be able to write a review of the phone itself and see whether it has been worth the aggravation. Also, still missing one UK replacement power lead for the handset, I obtained one for the base unit FOC.
