Average-to-cheap plastic bin. Decent for light use. Not to be used as a significant piece for the home.
Overall - it's a decent piece. An average, but decent piece.Assembly: good luck trying to figure out which piece is which. None of them are labeled. But look at the instructions and attempt to match the pieces by the drawing. The top back piece won't go on because the shelf takes up the back space. I may glue it in place. And it got to a point where I needed more than 2 hands to hold it together while I attempted to add that back piece. It kept falling apart.Finished product: My bad that I didn't read the description 100%. For some reason, I thought this was made of wood. It's plastic. And not super durable plastic either. This is average. It could easily crack. I did buy it for my master bedroom, and from a distance, it looks wood. You wouldn't know it was plastic until you touched it. I can see this plastic bending with something on top of it. So I wouldn't recommend adding ANYTHING to the top with any kind of weight. Water. Alarm clock. No-no. Maybe a remote and cell phone. I see the potential for it to warp the plastic. For my purposes, I plan to keep remotes in the drawers and little items such as a pad and paper. And carmex lol So this actually works for me. But I wouldn't recommend it for a "nice" bedroom. This is good for a kid.

Looks good, but could be more durable.
I think this nightstand is definitely for a student’s dorm room or bedroom. It was easy to put together, but the back is kind of flimsy and I wouldn’t be comfortable storing anything with a good amount of weight in it. I have it next to our couch - it does look good - but upon closer inspection, you can tell it’s not that durable. I do like the pull out drawers - they make it look higher quality than other plastic storage units. I would prefer another bigger drawer rather than the plastic door.

Great purchase
If you're specifically looking for plastic storage cubes, then this really does a great job. I don't think it's fair for anyone to review this item and compare it to a wood shelving unit, and then claim this is made of cheap materials. It's plastic. It's advertised as plastic. It needs to be considered for what it is. In my case, I specifically needed plastic cubes so they would be extremely lightweight and would work on a shelf. After searching for a long time and trying other plastic items, I got this unit and I'm extremely happy with it. It snaps together very easily. The plastic panels are very solid, and it hold its form well. Instead of it using it as a two tiered shelf, I kept the cubes separate. And it does work well that way also, in case you want to know. I think it's perfect for storing lightweight items and clothing. I'm using it to store sweaters and it's perfect for that. I would not recommend this for heavy-duty items. I think eventually the plastic shelf might begin to sag in that case. I also love that you can order extra shelves and doors and customize this. Also the drawers that come with it are very high quality and useful items.

Allergic reaction to product??
I’m not sure if anyone else experienced this, but since purchasing this item for our bedroom my boyfriend has not been able to stop sneezing, wheezing & has had trouble breathing (it’s on his side of the bed) it’s really odd. I’m not sure if there’s something it’s manufactured with that he’s allergic to, but he had to use an inhaler. It had a very strong smell when it was first opened that took a while to subside...maybe it was that. Anyone else experience this? We took it out of our room because of this.

Easy assembly, not sure of stability
This was super easy to assemble, however I'm very leery of its stability. My intent was to put this in my kids bedroom for a nightstand, but I don't think it would hold up well at all. I could see this being a good thing in a college dorm room or for older kids that would be aware of it's limitations, but my kids are 5 and 7 and the slightest bump would send a lamp or anything else set on top tumbling. So, I will be using it for my journal supplies instead - and hopefully it holds up to that.

Great for small spaces
I needed something that was small but tall and this works really well for being the height that it is, it is lightweight if you going to put a little heavy lamp on top probably not a good idea, but great for small spaces

Cute and sturdy
When I opened the box I was nervous about the durability but in the end I was surprised at how sturdy it is!It looks so good in my room; I'm happy to have received this! The only problem I had was this one panel when putting it together. It took both my roommate and myself using force to hold the back panel in. The directions said to slide it down and that worked but not when the shelf was in place. Instead we had to remove the shelf and put it together then force the shelf in. The back is bowed slightly but you cannot tell and the cube is still sturdy. All in all it's a great nightstand!

I was expecting more of a solid board material like what you would get from a big box store
Not at all what I was expecting. I guess I should have read up more on what this thing was made of. I was expecting more of a solid board material like what you would get from a big box store. Instead, I was surprised to see it was a light plastic, quite hollow. Instructions are somewhat easy enough to put together, but you have to realize that not all of the side connections are the same. Took me a few minutes to figure that out.As someone said, perfect for a dorm room or maybe closet organization. Otherwise, don't bother.
