FINALLY! A white-flamed battery-operated candle!Don't be fooled by the 'pewter' description - the base of these candles is more of a light gold/silver gold color to me.I bought this set twice to completely replace a set of similar battery-operated candles that disappointingly had orange 'flames' on top. The white 'flame' on these candles, set in a window at night, especially with the curtain closed behind them - really makes them stand out when viewed from the outside.These candles are NOT meant to light up a room. Their light is slightly stronger than a night-light. They are definitely strong enough to keep me awake at night if I don't turn the ones in my bedroom off.

Before ordering these battery operated Christmas candles I read all reviews. One of the reviews mentioned that they were well constructed and heavy. Well, the reality is that they are only "heavy" when you insert the two C batteries. Otherwise they are not sturdy. Out of the six I ordered one was DOA. When you put the lights on in the room where they located they shut off. So they are only on when the room is dark and it is nightfall. At least, that's my experience.

I’m going with a big fat DO NOT BUY for both the product and seller. These are dimly lit junk and are about as bright as a dead flashlight. You can barely see them in your windows when looking at your home from the outside. Seller made me pay for shipping back and a 20% restocking fee. Basically, it cost me $25-30 to let all of you know theses are junk.

worked perfect love the dusk to dawn feature turned them on at the beginning of Christmas season and did not have to do anything else. they lasted about a month on the set of batteries.

Great decoration. Easy to use and attractive. Would definitely buy again.

Love that you put the batteries in & forget about them! I wasn't impressed by how hard it was getting the batteries in and then closing it. Not a big deal though.

I bought 20 of these last year (2016) - and took them out this year, put in all new batteries, and 9 of them WON’T WORK! What’s up? The bulbs are NOT replaceable, but are supposedly long-lasting LED bulbs. I’m beginning to wonder if they really are LED bulbs!

These are great and bright. I had tons of compliments.
