    quality

highly recommend album from the old school electro days ... the first track has some background noise through the first part but other than that it is a good quality transfer to digital format ... only one dud track and that is the recent mix of "play at" ..2 good versions of "play at" and "danger zone" other than that it is the original album with some extras.electro-funk with some of the best male vocals ever put to dance music ... CLASSIC

    Ageing pretty well

I couldn't resist this when I saw it had been re-released on CD. I played the LP almost to destruction when it first came out, but it's been sitting in a dusty cupboard with all my other vinyl for more years than I care to remember. I knew that the big tunes - 'Cheap thrills' and 'Play at your own risk' - would hold up, but was a bit surprised at how much I enjoyed hearing the whole album again (even the Gary Glitter cover!) What distinguished Planet Patrol from their stablemates was the quality of their vocals - they were almost the electro version of the Temptations. It's a great pity that they didn't record more (and also that this album wasn't longer). The final, pointless 'bonus' track - a version of 'Play at your own risk' by Lil'l Jon featuring Lathun - is simply downright pitiful and serves to prove just how good Planet Patrol were.

    Play at you own risk...

Don't buy it at your own risk, especially if you remember the Jubilee Park hip hop jam in London, 1984..You remember going to the town centre with the radio and all your taped tunes, body popping and break dancing, that was when we could all dance! If you remember Bambaataa, then you need this CD. Also look for the Jonzun Crew and Arthur Baker's CD, he worked on most of these records anyway.Buy this CD and all the other real hip hop CD's, it's a must for any collection.
