Hunting isn't their hobby. It's their calling. It's all they were made to do. In sixty years, they've never lost focus. They've never followed anything but their instincts. They've never let up. They still live for the chase, pursuing innovation from dusk to dawn. They're in the fields, the blinds and the stands, long after the fair-weather crowd heads inside. They do all of this to build incredible hunting boots, because at Irish Setter, the hunt never ends.

Toasty feet in cold Wisconsin hunting weather
I bought these boots because I'm a freezy-cat during hunting & ice fishing in Wisconsin. Last year my battery operated shoe inserts broke so I was looking for a different alternative. My husband owns a pair of Irish Setters that have worked well for years for him. When I saw the big number, 2000g insulation value I thought it was a typo. After wearing these boots for both sitting in a hunting stand for hours and walking thru the woods and swamps I am ready to give my two cents worth. The other reviewers indicated the boots fit a bit large, so I ordered accordingly. There is plenty of toe area for thick socks and I still used the packaged toe warmers while just sitting, but wow, these boots are awesome for warmth. My feet/toes never were cold. I found out when walking around I definitely did not need the addition of warmers as the boots retain heat very well. One thing tho, they are very stiff. They worked well for some of the swamp walking as they did not leak but they did not flex at all when working my way thru brush and scrub. After a few miles they did feel heavy, but these are extremely warm boots, great for hunting and ice fishing so that was expected.I am very happy with this purchase and Irish Setter has once again made a superior product in my opinion.

Best boots I have ever purchased
Best boots I have ever purchased. Lots of insulation and padding, very comfortable and the inside stays dry even if your feet sweat. Have to break them in but I'm looking forward to next hunting season and not worrying about my feet freezing.

REALLY DO RUN BIG
Great brand, super warm boots for hunting in Northwest Wisconsin however, when I say they run big.. THEY RUN BIG. I looked passed all the reviews saying how big these ran because I usually wear wool socks with my boots but when I tried these on with my thick wool socks, I still couldn't walk comfortably because they were so big. I would recommend ordering a half size down if you plan to wear thick socks and a full size down if you don't plan on wearing thick socks. I am only giving a four because of how big these run!

Pricey but nice
A little snuggle with Wool Socks but just fine. I'm glad I didn't go by the reviews that they ran large. They DO NOT run large. Bulky Boots (feel like I'm wearing Moon Boots) but I'm sure I'll enjoy their warmth this Winter. I work in a Warehouse, on cement with little to no heat!

1) I hate that they don't bend 2) I hate that don't come in ...
I am normally a size 7.5, but it was suggested that I buy a size 8 because of the insulation. These boots are huge, I must return them. But I would buy them in my own size, IF THEY HAD THEM IN MY SIZE, WHICH THEY DO NOT! Your foot will not flex in these boots at all, maybe they need breaking-in time.1- I hate that they don't bend at the toe2- I hate that they do not come in a size 7.53- I think they would be great if you could get your right size, and you don't mind your foot not flexing at the toe when you are walking.4- I am slightly disappointed, I do not know what boots to buy, and I am an outdoor electrician, I need warm comfortable rugged boots.

These boots were definitely not made for walkin'
These boots just hurt. I tried to like them--I really wanted to like them--but multiple hunts and hikes later, I still hate them. Not only are they are ginormous, probably because of all the insulation, but they are also excessively rigid. They feel heavy and bulky, and with each step they dig into my calves. There is no flex in them or arch support. They are like walking in ski boots. Whenever I wear them, I feel like I'm stomping around with flat feet. They do appear to be well-made and they have kept my feet dry in the snow, but again, they are very uncomfortable. The toe box seems to be very roomy but again, they dig into your calves with each step, regardless of how tight you tie them. The first time I wore these was on a 4 mile hike and they actually left bruises where they dug in. These might be okay if I was doing little to no walking, and just needed a warm boot to sit in.
