Tropical Sun Young Green Jackfruit in Water, 400g (Pack of 2)

I bought this tin of Jackfruit thinking, “I’ll make a curry, it’ll be fine.” Wrong. It wasn’t fine. It was a revelation! I opened the tin and suddenly my kitchen smelled like a tropical paradise collided with a coconut milk factory. I added onions, tomatoes, lemon, and coconut milk (see my review for coconut milk), and the Jackfruit responded. It twisted, it mingled, it basically started directing the curry like it had attended the Royal Academy of Spice. By the time I tasted it, I was convinced this Jackfruit had superpowers. My humble curry had ascended. I felt heroic, enlightened, and slightly concerned about how two tins had nearly taken over my kitchen. My cat stared at me as if to say, “You’ve peaked, human. We must recalibrate.” Pro tips from the frontlines: It's cheaper to buy on here than Asda 🤫🤫 Chop it into smaller pieces unless you want whole Jackfruit chunks grappling with your spoon. Young Jackfruit = curry MVP. Older Jackfruit = still fine, but a bit grumpy. Don’t underestimate its power, it will make your curry so good your neighbours might call the emergency services. Verdict - Five stars. My curry skills are now officially 'legendary but slightly terrifying.' Jackfruit, I salute you.

Not the best jackfruit I’ve tried, but that’s my opinion, someone else may find it lovely.

This is hard to buy in water where I live. I am not vegan but I like plant based eating.

Good quality product

Metallic taste from this canned jackfruit. I've had no problems like this with other brands. Also the jackfruit itself looked darker, or maybe has oxidized already upon opening.
