Not a Golfer
I am an outdoor bird and wildlife photographer/hobbyist. I am terrible at guessing distances. Especially when the subject is across a field, marshlands or in a distant tree. This item takes away that guess work. For the price, unit is built very well. Optics is really clear; information is easy to read and manual focusing is smooth and quick. Function buttons are nicely placed at the top and the auto shut off is a plus for me. It comes with a nice hard case with multiple connecting options. Charges via USB C cable (included) and the battery last a long time. It's been out in the field multiple times and have had no issues so far. It has proven to be a good buy for my application.

As accurate as my Leupold $400 dollar range finder
Arrived same day. I didn't expect that but I live just outside of Salt Lake City Utah so it was likely warehoused close to make that happen. I've used the Leupold GX-3i for about 10 years and the red OLED (that I loved) faded to the point where past 199 yards, I cant tell if the first number is a 2 or a 3.. I played with it that way for about a year because it is fairly easy to know if you are 200 or 300 yards out and because I love the look, feel and the accuracy. Plus I paid way too much to have it just die on my like that, even if I did get almost 10 years out of it. I reached out to Leupold because rumor had it they would discount my next rangefinder. They offered me like 50 dollars off (not nearly enough to get me to buy another rangefinder that will eventually die) so I went on a search. I landed here because it ticked all the right boxes for me. 7x as opposed to the 6x magnification I am used to. The 7X is noticeably better. My hands are not as steady as they once were but I never had an issue with the Leupold and I do not have an issue with this one either. Black so that it does not show dirt. Golf is not a clean sport and even though I am a bit ocd with keeping things clean I didn't see a white range finder keeping me happy. Slope wasn't something I need or cared to have as I am pretty good at knowing how much to club up or down with elevation changes but i will take it if I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for it. Black LED for the display so that it lasts as long as it can, and some warranty with a 30 day return if it was junk or couldnt replicate the same yardage. This one can. Anyway Leupold explained to me the red or their OLED goes out sooner than the black but both eventually go out. Some online forums had people with less than 5 years saying their rangefinders were failing. Anyway, as much as I loved the red, I will take the black if it lasts longer. In my research, some (very few) rangefinders offer a lifetime replacement or warranty and I believe the reason for that is that manufacurers know full well that a laser range finder has a natural end of life at some point. Vortex is a brand that offers lifetime warranty and replacement and they have been around a while but it will cost you a minimum of 3x more, for less tech. Cobalt is another but again you pay way more and they seem to be a brand new company. I don't put a lot of stock in a lifetime warranty of a company that can easily shut down and rebrand overnight in this crazy world we live in. Well I've said all this to say the look and feel of this is nice, the weight is comparable to my nice Leupold and while I wont know for sure if the battery lasts a long time I will come back and update if my experience changes. So far, this is exactly what I wanted with some features I will never use or care about... namely the KM per hour feature. I would need to know MPH for that to mean anything to me in the good old USA. Anyway, I like it and other than the silly name, I recommend it.

Fantastic Value vs. the Alternatives
I recently got my hands on the Flysocks Golf Range Finder, and after using it for a few rounds, here are my thoughts:Pros:• Great Range: This range finder is impressive, measuring distances up to 800 yards. It’s been super helpful, especially on those long par-5s where you need precise measurements.• Long-Lasting Battery: The battery life is fantastic. I’ve gone through several rounds without needing to recharge, which is a big plus. No one wants their range finder dying mid-game!• Slope Adjustment: The ability to switch slope adjustment on and off is a game-changer. It’s perfect for casual rounds on hilly courses and can be turned off for tournaments where slope readings aren’t allowed.• Strong Magnet: The built-in magnet is a brilliant feature. It’s strong enough to stick securely to a golf cart, so it’s always within reach and easy to grab between shots.• Compact and Lightweight: It’s small and light, which makes it easy to carry around. I just pop it in my pocket or attach it to the cart without worrying about extra weight.Cons:• Target Dot Visibility: One downside is that the target dot can be a bit hard to see at times. This can lead to false readings if you miss the pin by just a little, which can be frustrating.• Learning Curve: There’s a bit of a learning curve to using it, especially if you’re new to range finders. It took me a few tries to get the hang of aiming it correctly and reading the measurements.• Lacks Advanced Features: While it’s great for basic use, it doesn’t have some of the fancy features like GPS or Bluetooth that you’ll find in more expensive models. If you’re a tech lover, this might be a minor letdown.Overall:The Flysocks Golf Range Finder is a solid piece of gear. Its excellent range, battery life, and handy slope adjustment make it a great tool for improving your game. The strong magnet is a bonus for those who like to keep it on their golf cart. Sure, the target dot visibility and lack of advanced features are a bit of a drawback, but for the price, it offers fantastic value and reliable performance. If you’re looking for a dependable range finder without breaking the bank, this one’s definitely worth considering.
