I’ve paired it with a Daiwa legalis 2500 reel for bass and also a lighter 1000 for trout fishing. Nice compromise between an ultralight and a medium weight. Review: Updated classic. - Like my Ugly Stiks review, the only fault with the rod is it won't stand up to being run over by your fishing buddy. Fortunately he didn't run over the Original lighting rod and I was able to buy two new light 5'6" rods which are perfect for trout and Walleye and small mouth bass.
