Joe Satriani - Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards (Play It Like It Is Guitar)

It`s always good to know that when you buy a tablature book, the transcriptions will be accurate. This is no exception to the Cherry Lane/Hal Leonard rule. I have all Joe`s albums and all Joe`s tab books, so am pleased to have this. I particularly wanted to learn "Wormhole Wizards" and "Wind In The Trees", the strongest songs on the album IMO. I didn`t realise Joe was using auto-tune in the latter! He plays around with tunings a little more than usual on this album. Ultimately, if you want the short cut to learning yourself some Satch - and a decent essay about Joe`s intentions with this release - you can`t go wrong here.

Well, what can be said about Satch that hasn't already been said? His work is just amazing, and this is, in my opinion, his greatest album in YEARS! Seeing all those notes transcribed onto paper is just mind boggling to say the least. Now, the book... This tablature book includes all 10 songs from the NON-BONUS version of the album, so "Longing" and "Heartbeats" are NOT included! I was expecting them to be in the book since there is no product description, so I thought it was important to include that here. This is written pretty much like any other tablature book, specifically those by the Cherry Lane Music Company, which has done most, if not all, of Joe's album transcriptions. If you are a Satriani fan, or just love great guitar music, pick this up; you'll have a great time with it- beginner to advanced! I've been playing for about 7 years and even challenged myself a little by learning the very basic track "Solitude". Enjoy!
