Best period boyshort option.

High rise in front, low rise in back
The flap to allow wings to attach under is a great idea but with shorts this long it's better to just stick them down the sides to protect thighs from drips. With the flap and the waterproof areas, there are so many seams and differences in stiffness of the fabric that it is a sensory nightmare. The worst thing, however, is that they are high rise in the front and extra low rise in the back. Belly button height in the front and crack height in the back. They feel like they are backwards! It's not any better to wear them backwards, and the waterproof part is at the wrong height then. Will the low rise in the back be even worse after they are washed and dried?

Good Quality, 100% Soft Cotton, Supplemental Protection
These can't be used alone for preventing period leaks. They are colorful, cute, sturdy 100% cotton girls underwear lined to be absorbent to help protect from menstrual leaking in combination with a menstrual pad or other protection. There is a slot to insert a pad. I got these for my daughter, and they were a good value for three pairs, which came in light pink, purple, and black. They are well-made, soft, comfortable, made of natural breathable material, and so far are working great as backup protection. They enable you to use thinner pads instead of bulky ones, and reduce the chance of accidents. They say they are machine washable, but then also recommend hand washing to improve the lifespan of the underwear.
