Must have for VR headset
The Hagibis USB3.0 Video Capture Card is a fantastic addition to my Meta Quest 3 setup. Its dual interface design ensures compatibility with various devices (PC, PS5, Xbox, etc), and the 100W PD fast charging keeps my headset powered during long sessions. The plug-and-play functionality makes it incredibly user-friendly, with no need for drivers or external power supplies. The video quality is impressive, supporting 1080P at 60fps, ensuring smooth and high-quality video/gameplay. Clarity is not as great as if the console was connected directly to a tv and there is a slight input lag but doesn't seem to cause too many issues. Overall, it's a reliable and affordable option for capturing high-quality video and audio, making it a top choice for VR enthusiasts.

Fantastic capture card for 1080p 60 on Quest 3
I got this to hook up to my Quest 3 since I’d like to play several game consoles on a large screen but the main TV is occupied by others. This works fanatically. I don’t play any games that require twitch reaction times so I can’t comment on lag, but it feels very responsive. The colors look great, no artifacts, and I confirmed the headset reports 1080p 60 when using it with the Switch 2. For the price, this is a fantastic value. It’ll also allow you to charge the headset at the same time. I tried this with a BoboVR battery on the headset strap - worked great! No issues at all with this device - it does exactly what I wanted with the Meta HDMI Link app.

Works great, just keep cool and stable.
Update 1/9/2025: I'm updating my rating, because I think the problems I've been having were caused by the heat of the ROKU 4k stick, which I plugged directly into the Hagabis. And also the ROKU is very finicky on how it likes to connect if it does not detect an active HDMI port. I only figured this out, because I order another HDMI video capture device called XIIXMASK, which is probably using the same components as the Hagabis. It worked right away, but after a couple of hours it started to show some of the same issues as the Hagabis. I then realized that my ROKU was quite hot at that point, so the following day when I used this new device, I put an active cooler directly on it to help counter the ROKU's heat, and used a quality USB extender to prevent any wiggling. I had zero issue while watching a few shows. No disconnects, no freezes, nothing, everything worked great. I also realized that my other USB C to USB C UGREEN video capture device was never subjected to the same level of heat as the Hagabis. Its design keeps it away from heat, since its input cable is more than 3 feet long. I'm going to order a HDMI extender cable to keep the heat of the ROKU away from the Hagabis and my newer device, and will also add some small heatsinks for better cooling. Anyways, these little devices are amazing! This is my original feedback: First off, for the price for this, its video quality, and the option of power delivery, the Hagabis is amazing. But for the one I got at least, it's just not reliable, and maybe that has to do with its cost? Or maybe I was just unlucky and got one from a bad batch. I bought this so that I could plug a HDMI devices like my ROKU 4k Stick into my Quest 3 via HDMI Link. I've only used this device for about 20 hours now, and each time it gets more and more flaky. If and when I can get it connected with the USB 3 side, it works wonderfully, but this requires fiddling and what seems like luck. I think that my device has loose connections some place internally on the board, and it's only when it warms up that it works somewhat reliably. But getting it to this point is me randomly unplugging and plugging things back in. To add details: Depending on what way the USB cable is plugged in, is weather or not it is USB 2(MJPEG) or USB 3(YUY2). But, because the device I received is flaky, it has switched to MJPEG from YUY2. This happened last night for the first time after about 40 minutes. The USB 2 side always connects on the first try, but after about a minute or so, this Hagibis freezes. At first I thought it was the ROKU, but it's not, it's this Hagibis. But this is only if the device has not warmed up, which requires getting the USB 3 side to work first. For the USB 3 direction of the plug, which is YUY2, when I finally get this side to link, which requires divine intervention maybe, this is when the device warms up and I can finally watch something on the ROKU. This product needs more QA, or something. I would happily pay more for something that works. When I bought this, I also bought the UGREEN USB C to UCB C Video capture device. It was more than double the price, but it's so far reliable. I've used it for about 50 hours with my Steam Deck with zero issues. The options for HDMI to USB C with power delivery are slim, so I'm glad Hagabis is in the market. I hope whatever is causing these issues can be addressed.

Fantastic with Meta Quest 3
This dongle is amazing. I bought this specifically for Meta Quest's HDMI Link to cast my console games (PS5 and Switch) and PC into my VR environment and was blown away at how seamless and high qualify the virtual screen was. It does a full 4k and 61fps with no frame drops and the resolution doesn't not leave much to be desired. It was also plug and play with the HDMI Link app. No fuss at all. I also tested with productivity stuff on my computer. It was more than just serviceable. While not4k native, text and such was very legible. If you scale it a bit higher, it almost looks native. I had tried another dongle and was so disappointed. I expected the worst here. I had nothing to worry about. Love the fact that it has a USC-C power input so I'm charging my headset at the same time. I tried this for several hours with no hiccups besides my face starting to hurt a bit from wearing the Quest 3 for so long. It took a few weeks for it to come in, but it was well worth the wait.

Meta Quest - HDMI link
I got this to use with my Meta Quest 3 via HDMI link. This is the only capture card I’ve tried so far that works with no issues. Literally plug and play with no setup besides some permissions. Worked with my Nintendo Switch dock (I do have an aftermarket one, had some trouble with the standard version), the PS5, my MacBook, and a fire stick. The passthrough port for charging is the cherry on top. I do suggest using a USB-C extension cable when using with a Meta Quest headset to avoid damaging the USB-C port. I’m actually blown away, as this tiny dongle is replacing my elgado capture card, which was WAY more expensive and complicated than this. Even using this to capture my Nintendo Switch output on my MacBook has nearly identical results to my elgado. 4K, 60fps even on an extension cable. No delay whatsoever. Anyways buy this. It works awesome.

Video capture works, but does not supply power to my device
There is clearly a USB-C power port on this device. However, it does not charge my device. I tried to plug this into my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, and the video capture works great. However, I can't use it for long before the battery dies. Even with a charger plugged into the USB-C power port, the tablet does not charge. Instead, I got a different capture card, and a USB-C OTG Splitter Adapter. This combo works fine.

Decent capture adapter
Works great as an easy portable video capture solution. Showed up fine in OBS and seems to capture fine for basic inputs.

Works perfectly for turning my iPad Pro into a working into an HDMI monitor for my PS4. However it seemed to have some audio issues when I've tried it on my iPad Air without thunderbolt support. Works well on my MAC and PC as well with OBS for capturing my server's display output when I don't have an extra monitor to troubleshoot with.

In order to capture the video from an iPhone using the HDMI link app, and a Quest headset the card needs the provided power source. It can not stream videos from services like Amazon, but can capture everything else I’ve tried.
