Just about perfect
My wife would buy this 100 times over! It is her favorite jacket she has ever owned. Warm, light, long. High quality. It is not the cheapest but it is the best. She loves the way it fits and how comfy it is.

Great quality but SUPER NARROW SHOULDERS
I ordered a 2x just because I got it for such a good deal. Figured it would be way too big but with free returns I tried anyway. My measurements 38DDD with broad shoulders. 34 waist 46 hips. I buy most my fitted coats in an xl- I have a llbean puffer in an xl too that fits perfect. However i wanted space to layer because I know this coat is rather thin so I thought I'd need a 1x. Expected 2x to be too loose. The 2x arrived and I'm glad I took the chance. Wearing a typical Hanes tshirt the shoulders and arm openings feel perfect- very fitted. I hope a hoodie won't be too big under it! A 1x would have been a tight fit with even just a tank top on! There is a lot of space in the waist chest and hips - yet narrow shoulders! How does that work?! But the size in the rest of the coat will definitely accommodate layering and I have tons of movement in my seat. It's also worth noting that Columbia states it's an 'active fit' and the coat would be larger on bottom to allow for active sports.I think the lines make the jacket appear flattering despite the fact it's 'too big' for me in the waist and hip.If I had narrower shoulders I'm sure the 1x would be much more fitted and hug me all over for a more 'flattering' look but I really don't think they made this coat to compensate people layering under it!Additional review - comparing to other columbia coats-I own a few columbia coats. 5'5" 215lbs. 38ddd chest. Normally even with my build I fit into xl coats and clothes in brands aside from columbia.Columbia runs smaller than other brands, so I know to order up. ALSO- columbia adult coats always seem to have short arms!! I don't mind, they work for me but for someone with longer arms- be aware.Fits great. Seems warm. Light for the size/thickness of the jacket. More form fitting/flattering than on model shown. Also seems a little shorter than shown. In comparison to the 1x powder light columbia coat it fits same in size, but is shorter than the powder light. In comparison to the 2x mighty lite jacket the mighty lite jacket has extremely narrow shoulders. And the 2x mighty light shoulders fit the same as the 1x eclipse. So if you have broader shoulders the eclipse is fine. 2x mighty lite is much larger in chest and waist (despite having narrow shoulders! Someone explain how that fitting is suppose to work to me lol)

Best winter jacket I've ever owned
I live in New England, and I've been looking for a decent winter jacket. I have long and short down jackets in different weights, a layered hiking jacket, and a variety of other winter jackets. This one has replaced them all. I wear it when it's 50 degrees and damp; I wear it when it's 7 degrees and brutally windy. I wear it hiking. (For those of you familiar with the area, I hiked to the weather observatory at Blue Hills, up to the top, where the weather instruments are, and I still wasn't cold.) I wear it walking. I wear it on the train on my way to work. I wear it in my office when I get chilly. I never get hot and sweaty (hot flash-resistant technology), and I never get cold. I don't know what kind of witchcraft is involved in this omni-heat stuff, but it's amazing and the best. The jacket is also incredibly comfortable. It's lightweight, thin, easy to move in, and fits well. I'm 5'8" and have long arms, broad shoulders, and a long torso -- it's very difficult to find women's jackets that fit. I bought the xlarge and it's loose-fitting but not in an unflattering way. I would love to get an ankle-length version of this jacket. Also gloves. And pants. And a hat. And a house made of omni-heat. I would like to encase myself in omni-heat until late June. The only negative for this jacket is the hood. It's useless. It's small and there's no draw string or way to keep it on. But that's not really a big deal when you consider all the great stuff about the jacket.

Do your research first
I absolutely love this coat, but before you buy it, do you research about this coat's capabilities and limitations. This is my 2x buying this coat. The only reason I'm replacing it after 3 years is because I gained weight and needed a bigger size. 😊 My original coat still looks brand new and I wore it a ton over the span of 3 years.-Consider what this jacket will be used for, as this jacket is limited in its warmth. If you need a coat for under 32 degrees, this is not the jacket for you - even with layers. However, you live somewhere with a mostly mild winter, like Portland, this is a great winter coat. I live it Boise, and I cannot wear this jacket when it gets colder than 32 degrees. I use this jacket in the late fall, early spring, and the occasional warmer winter day. I would guess this jacket mimics a 500 fill jacket at best. I use this coat when it's too warm for my 700 fill down coat. I like having options.-This jacket is very, very durable. Compared to many down jackets, I'm not afraid of it snagging on every little thing. This jacket doesn't hinder mobility. It's easy to drive in, and is super light. It takes up little room in closets and suitcases. It's easy to clean.-Jacket runs a little small. I am a size 8 in dresses and the medium fits OK. It's a little more snug around the hips than I would normally prefer. I've read the Columbia Heavenly is more forgiving for pear-shaped figures.-Jacket is water repellent, not water proof. I like wearing this jacket on damp, cool days. You may want to consider a waterproof shell if you live in a wet climate.-The omni-heat technology is nice - but be patient. The jacket will warm up as you move. Keep that in consideration.-The hood doesn't stay on well. This is my only qualm about this coat, thus 4/5 stars.I love this jacket. It isn't a coat for harsh winters, but it's great for your 32-50 degree range. I hope this model never discontinues.
