Cool Ambiance, Good Quality, and Added Ash Tray
Bought this for the ambiance, light, and heat. Works perfect and puts off decent heat. It is a very unique and cool addition to our patio! It is built with solid materials and as a metal fabricator myself, I am pleased with the quality. You will get a feel for how many pellets to add for what amount of time you want it to burn. They have also added an ash tray which is a nice addition so you don’t have to make your own. Yes, you cannot put it out but if you plan accordingly that isn’t a big deal. I would recommend to anyone considering buying it!

Works well, but ...
I am generally pleased with this item. A couple of things to note, getting the fire started required some type of kindling in the little firebox, a couple of squares of prefire starter works fine, but honestly any left over paper from your junk mail pile would probably do the trick also. once lit, it remains lit for a while. The challenger with this guy is estimating how long you want the fire to run as when the pellets run low and the fire is burning down, it's a little difficult to add pellets and keep the fire going. I kept shaking it to try and get the pellets down into the fire, but I think all I was doing was compacting the pellets and reducing airflow. I think it works well as long as you start with the right amount of fuel. Along those lines, I'm going to start overfilling and then if I decide I don't need the fire anymore, I will drain the pellets through the little door and let the remaining ones burn out. The tube gets pretty dirty also, even when I remove it from the pre and post fire smoldering. Oh well. It's easy enough to clean. When it is running, it looks pretty cool and it makes a sound like a small jet engine is running, which is actually a nice sound. A little white noise.

Hypnotic
Love the look of this heater! Not the best heat radiance but while it misses that mark it definitely makes up for it in ambiance! The flame is very hypnotic and cool to watch while warming up! Well made too but you will need something below to catch ash from making a mess. I also attached a chimney flue spark arrestor which help to direct more heat where you need it too.

Really cool but pellet screen burned through in less than 1 month
This thing is super cool! There are a couple of drawbacks. It takes a few minutes to light, be patient. The glass tube get pretty dirty after a couple of uses. The instructions tell you to remove the tube when lighting to help keep it clean, we do this but it still gets pretty dirty after just a few uses. We did try the vinegar method like recommended by the instructions, it work pretty good. We found using purple power cleaner cleans it right up! We would of gave it 5 stars but the screen that holds the pellets in while lighting it already burned/rusted through. I had a piece of metal screen already and cut it to fit and seams to be working well. We have had this for just about a month. All that said this thing is still pretty cool, puts off some nice heat and a great glow.

Not very stable, great customer service
I love this item, but there are a few issues. Really needs a bigger base, and should probably have 4 legs instead of 3, mine fell over and broke on a medium wind, nothing dramatic. You need to clean it regularly to keep it performing well, if it gets dirty the flame is pretty low. You can't keep it out as it may blow over, but it does not really turn off, you just empty out the excess pellets and it keeps burning with a low flame, so you can't put it indoors for at least 30 minutes as it keeps smoking. Do not pour water onto the pellets as it will stain the glass tube dark brown, and is very tough to clean. If you buy it, save the foam for the glass tube, and store the tube instead of the whole unit, as the tube cools down pretty quick and doesn't keep smoking like the base. Use a firestarter or tinder to light it, as it takes some time to get going. I had success with different pellets, and even the cheap ones worked well. Even with all the issues, it looks really cool and heats at least as well as the propane patio heaters. If I can get a replacement tube, I will, even if I have to pay. Update - I contacted their customer service, and they are replacing the entire unit for free, plus sent me instructions on how to get more out of the heater. Great customer service!

No brainer. Buy this product. You will love it!
This fire pit was super easy to assemble — I didn’t even need the instructions. The design is clean and efficient, and the flame it produces is impressive. Just one cup of pellets gives you about 15 minutes of burn time. I’m not sure of the total capacity, but I’ve been using it for up to two hours at a time with no issues. I’m really happy with both the product and the price point. I don’t often leave reviews, but this one earned it. Highly recommended.

Cheap enhancement: Tin snips, flashing, and 9x13 Cookie sheet fix flaws - photos show steps
After reading other reviews that the heater drops burning pellets, I saw that my wife had thrown out a 9 x 13 cookie sheet, and I had an idea: Using a pair of tin snips and metal bending pliers, I could make a tray to catch any burning pallets that fall out of the heater. The tray can be easily mounted by punching & drilling four holes where the leg stand plate mounts to the bottom of the heater, then screwing through the tray when assembling - sorry, I forgot to take a photo of hole placement. Markings on the blue tape show my measurements and where I cut and bent the metal of the cookie sheet. Photos show all steps. Since I had the tin snips and pliers out, I decided that I could also make a shallow drawer out of 6-inch aluminum flashing to go inside the air intake to catch any burnt pellets that fell out there without obstructing airflow. More blue tape and measurements show where I bent the cheap aluminum flashing. Hopefully, photos show enough steps for others to duplicate my build. After-burn photos show that the tray and the drawer caught all burning embers. Not a one got down to the deck. Success! Video shows the heater looks great when burning. Too bad it doesn’t throw much heat. My next improvement experiment will be adding a heat deflector to the top (made from a 4-inch chimney rain cap - $12 at Ace Hardware). If that proves insufficient, then I’ll add an emitter and reflector from a square pyramid patio heater.

First use went great. I used a propane torch to light, took a while to get a flame coming out, as soon as it was flaming, the smoke was less, I put the glass in and it worked awesome. it seems a little tippy being a tripod but so far so good

It smoked a lot at start up, but worked great once started. There was a vortex of flame that was quite striking! I added a metal screen at the bottom to catch the burning pellets that fall through (other reviewers have mentioned this issue) Then only remaining trouble is that the pellets just pile to the bottom and you can't modulate the feed rate! That would be a nice feature, but would obviously cost more.

Item is well made and works great. Unfortunately, it does not really produce a lot of heat, but it is a great addition to any patio for visual effect. Would benefit having an available rain proof cover and ash box.
