I was looking for a simple case with a front cover to throw in my purse.The base around the back for the phone is plastic and it is covered or flocked in a suedey feeling fabric. The front flip portion which covers the screen is the same flocked material over, I would guess, very firm cardboard or thin plastic. Like a Samsung flip case it will be relatively durable if you take care of it and don't abuse it.The magnetic closure is a nice touch and the bar on the front did indeed allow me to swipe and answer an incoming call without opening the case.Edit - I bought a second in the red/burgundy as a spare. So far it's held up just fine ### ⭐⭐⭐ few flaws with design *by P***H on March 31, 2015* This case is as advertised, but here are the flaws that I've experienced in the last 6 months. 1) it doesn't have any type of magnetic closure so the few times I've dropped my phone it's fallen face down and the flap has opened up not protecting the screen. 2) The suede like fabric gets really dirty. I bought the beige color, and it's filthy even after washing it. I think other materials would be easier to wash, or if you're going to get it, get black color. The things that I do like about this case are that you can see the messages through the flap, and it's easy to use camera and head set. ### ⭐⭐ I bought this about a month ago and the plastic ... *by P***R on April 6, 2016* I bought this about a month ago and the plastic piece that hold it onto the phone cracked already, I didn't even drop it. I could still use it but the plastic screen on the front is always blurry and it bothers me anyway.
